It's a classic example of the MSM's use of sympathetic individual anecdotes to manipulate public opinion in favor of more and bigger government. Today's Good Morning America segment on the looming government shutdown, narrated by former New York Times reporter Jeff Zeleny, offered the stories of just two people, both African-Americans, who could be hurt by a government shutdown. And check out the screen graphic: not to dramatize things or nuthin', but ABC plaintively wonders how federal workers would "survive."
ABC could have balanced its report with stories of younger people who will see their health insurance premiums double or more if ObamaCare is implemented. But why would Good Morning America want to go there?

Since Federal “workers” are the best paid group outside of Wall St., they should have saved for a rainy day. Certainly they didn’t think the taxpayers’ cash would last forever, did they?
These little paid shut downs should encourage them to prepare for the Great Shut-Down that is coming when the USA, like Greece, is totally out of money to pay the millions of government employees riding in a limo that will have finally run out of gas.

Get ready for the onslaught of the “sob” stories. I remember during the 1995 government shutdown the media had reporters stationed at the entrance to every national park to interview the one guy who drove his kids all the way across the nation on their first vacation in ten years just to find the park shutdown, because of the EVIL Republicans. When the real question that should have been why when it had been reported for weeks that all national parks would closed in case of a shutdown would he still risk making the trip?
You want to get angry? Spend some time with some GS12-15s.
IIRC, Jeff Zeleny started out covering the police blotter at some paper in Iowa. I know they all start somewheres..but how the heck did that get him to the national desk at the Times, in a very short time. Is he related or married to one of Pinch’s kin?

Let’s see. We are supposed to be concerned over a temporary loss of income for some federal employees(they will be paid those lost wages after shut down is over). But we ignore the permanent loss of income for the millions of private sector employees who have lost their jobs due to the policies of 0bama. Oh the huge manatees. Eliminate 10% of all federal jobs as a start to fixing the real problem.
Gov workers always get back pay. ABC is full of it.

I’m glad I never watch these idiotic morning shows.
Americans need to recognize we’ve been exporting American jobs now for an entire generation.
We need to make a choice. Soon:
1) Bring back American jobs and American manufacturing.
2) Dramatically improve healthcare for Americans.
One or the other...
What many people are about to realize is that they do not qualify for tax credit/subsidies. If you don’t believe me go to one of the calculators and type in low numbers (below 100% of poverty line for example 2 people with income of $11990.00) and it will tell you that you do not qualify and must pay all of the premium. I can tell you that a lot of people that have lost their jobs working part time are in this situation.
Sorry. I didn’t make it clear that I am referring to Obamacare in the above post, which is the reason for this predicament.
Save us, Putin!
