DALLAS (AP) -- A government lawyer says the drive to win that helps Mark Cuban succeed in business led the billionaire basketball owner to cheat by using insider information to sell stock in an Internet company.
''Mark Cuban violated the law, and he knew better,'' Securities and Exchange Commission lawyer Jan Folena said Tuesday during opening statements to jurors at Cuban's insider-trading trial.

Cuban is going to win, and big!
The only witness against Cuban has left the country and has said he will NOT be available for the trial (non criminal trials can’t extradite witnesses).
Good for Cuban for standing up for his rights and against this bully government. He has spent more than the fee amount but for him that is chump change.
Go Mark, go!
Obama and Holder’s war on Texas continues...
Cuban supported Mitt Romney. BTW.
I seem to remember he said something about the “One” that wasn’t nice.
Go Cuban. We watch him on Shark Tank a lot. He is not a crook, as far as I can tell.
If Cuban wants to profit from insider trades he should run for Congress.
As a sports fan I am very cognizant of Cuban’s sleaze factor. There is a reason he plays a shark on TV.
Whew!
At least he wasn’t fixing basketball games, ‘cause that’d be a SERIOUS crime.
Wrong.
His weak character and lack of morals led him to cheat.
He’d be a good candidate for either Wall Street, congress, or the White House.
I know its humor, but Stewart wasn’t convicted for insider trading. She made the mistake of not calling her lawyer and exercising her right to remain silent when the government was on a witch hunt.
Cuban ... just like Ted Cruz.
But this is what frosts me about these government lawyers. Who cares about why he did something? He either broke regulations or he didn’t. The only reason they spout their conjectures about motive is to get juries to rule against him because he is a rich SOB, to blazes with the law.
I am well aware of his bad boy image relative to the NBA. But on the shark he’s completely different. He seems the most sincere and reserved.
Just more lib/progressive projecting. They ALL specialize in this.
That is hilarious.
And yet, no government agency has ever investigated Hillary’s cattle futures, or Obama Rezko sweetheart deals.
I disagree. That same bad boy persona has to translate to all his business practices. Some of those poor saps have sank their lives into their efforts. Cuban would be one of the last people I’d trust. He would cut you off at the knees in an NBA moment.

He could just buy a seat like the rest of them do...
