I feel bad for the ranger in the interview on the one hand.
He seems resigned to perform his job in violation of his conscience .
But, never the less he is performing against his conscience for the hope of a signed paycheck.
This exactly what will happen if the government goes all out with its tyrannical desire for predation and deep seated desire to demonstrate what thugs are in power.
There will be conflicts here.
Still lets not bury our faces so deep in spots of darkness that we cannot see what the light is showing us. Every such attempt highlights the Obama vanity AND the obscene scope of Federal power, something which earlier presidents could in principle do but none had the narrow vindictiveness to actually do. All manner of things which can’t be defunded because they were never funded in the first place are being jackbooted. The Tantrum Thrower In Chief thinks this will get a complacent America to throw in with his tantrums. But he’s forgotten that there is a God, and when a stupored, groggy America finally takes a clumsy grasp of said Deity, he’s poised to get a rude surprise.
Oh, don’t worry. We have the Oath Keepers that will spring into action. Heck, some of these rangers may even be members.
I realize some here are members and I would like to know if they have a “Red Line”. Does it have to be riots in the streets? From the web site:
“9. We will NOT obey any orders to confiscate the property of the American people, including food and other essential supplies, under any emergency pretext whatsoever.
10. We will NOT obey any orders which infringe on the right of the people to free speech, to peaceably assemble, and to petition their government for a redress of grievances.”
The local police are assisting in some of these shut downs.
I realize I will be flamed for this post. The main reason I am posting it is to demonstrate that it is easy to take strong positions. It is very hard to take action. I am only trying to show there is no clear red line. By the time it appears to have been clearly crossed, it is too late.
