LAKEWOOD, Wash. - A 20-year-old active-duty soldier was stabbed to death in a parking lot at the 12500 block of Pacific Highway Southwest around 2:30 a.m., officials say.
Three soldiers were walking from Joint Base Lewis-McChord along Pacific Highway SW when a group of men in a car drove by and someone inside shouted a racial comment toward the white soldiers, the Lakewood Police Department said.
"One of the soldiers yelled back something about the suspects treating combat soldiers with disrespect," Lt. Chris Lawler said.
The vehicle turned around, and five black males got out of the car and confronted the soldiers, according to reports. As the verbal confrontation ensued, the driver of the vehicle realized the men were actually combat veterans and called his friends off. While the men headed back to their vehicle, one of the suspects appeared to have bumped into the victim, witnesses say.
The soldiers saw their friend fall to the ground as the car sped away. The victim was bleeding profusely from a stab wound and died at the scene.

Yeah, but that takes discipline and being alert to the danger. In this case, five guys spilling out of a car after a verbal exchange should be an indication to forget being macho and draw your weapon.
On the other hand, strolling down a street and having someone stab you with no warning, or cold cock you without warning (as is case in most of these incidents) is a whole nuther issue. Even Zimmerman wasn't able to prevent the initial attack. If Trayvon had a knife, no doubt he could just as easily have fatally stabbed Zimmerman.
The key is the ability to maintain a safe distance and drawing your weapon sooner rather than later improves your odds of being able to do so.
There are a number of training videos that go into detail as to what the minimum distance should be and just how few seconds you have to react. The distance is quite long and the time to react, short.
It's one reason I stop tracking the 5+. It was pretty obvious that something was amiss.

Tevin was my nephew. He was a wonderful young man who was working hard to make a good life for himself. He didn’t deserve this. I hope & pray that one of these young men has enough conscience to come forward with the information needed for an arrest. I do not believe that ALL five of these young men are heartless murderers...But, there is one among them who is and he needs to be brought to justice. I hope they realize that if their friend was capable of taking my nephews life, he is capable of taking someone else’s.

Whites won’t exist by then. The whole black world will be pockets of Detroit at best, Haiti/Zimbabwe/Paua New Guinea at worst. while their Asian overlords and the Hispanic middle class will be immovable thanks to their lack of white guilt. Blacks won’t know what oppression is until guilty whites are extinct and unable to run interference between the Hispanic middle classes, Asian elites, and the black underclasss. And those two groups, lacking a miniscule amount of racial guilt, will have no qualms at keeping blacks on the bottom.

back to this murder, sadly, the thought runs thru me that these blacks in the car could have been army guys as well...if they were, they're car was seen on video....

I’m sure that the President will mourn Tevin Geike’s death as publicly and sincerely as he mourned the death of hoodlum Trayvon Martin. After all, you’d think the Commander in Chief would find a soldier’s death more tragic than that of a street thug /sarcasm.
