Family member killed by a drunk driver?

Yea, my brother on October 28, 2001, at the intersection of Adams St. and Miles Ave in La Quinta California. Killed by a 19 year old hispanic named Cruz Alejandro Martinez who was high on drugs and alcohol and attempted to flee the scene of the accident.

Martinez was ultimately sentenced to 4 years in prison for killing my brother but was credited 80 days for time served............

But I digress, these cops should be punished to the fullest extent of the law and made an example of to all law enforcement agences for their treatment of this woman...........

Or maybe she thought she was being responsible and sleeping it off instead of driving. Many people do not know that is illegal until they get arrested for it. I also don’t know what based you have been on but I can assure you that all the ones I have been on had their fair share of drunks driving around, many of whom finished their careers after getting caught.

“He acted sadistically.

Probably sick of repeat offenders such as her.”

Prolly just another sick jack boot type.

Thought it was his right to abuse a drunk woman.

I like the ‘resisting arrest’ part. They always throw that in. Like its a freebie.

You are a tool. A tool for the oppressors, an enemy of my freedom.

Cops have become the ‘standing army’.

You lost your moral compass when you traded ‘peace officer’ for ‘law enforcement’.

Bullies and cowards, the whole lot of you.

IMHO.

“Lastly, there are cameras all over the place in that jail so you would think the cops would know that they are being watched.”

As the cop was never charged, I guess it doesn’t much matter that he was being recorded.

You seem like a law and order type guy. How about applying this law? =>

18 USC § 242 - Deprivation of rights under color of law

and if bodily injury results from the acts committed in violation of this section or if such acts include the use, attempted use, or threatened use of a dangerous weapon, explosives, or fire, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than ten years, or both;

and if death results from the acts committed in violation of this section or if such acts include kidnapping or an attempt to kidnap, aggravated sexual abuse, or an attempt to commit aggravated sexual abuse, or an attempt to kill, shall be fined under this title, or imprisoned for any term of years or for life, or both, or may be sentenced to death.

If she reacted to something, that caused the cop to do that to her, I’m going to guess that it wasn’t a mug shot she had a problem with, but the strip search.

“A cop breaking up a woman’s face when he has her alone in a cell, is not part of a justice system.”

Really?

Use the search term “police brutality” on youtube. You’ll get roughly 947,000 results. No joke.

Glad they didn’t pat you down with a nightstick.

Still believe that the cops won’t shoot you if they are ordered to?

"On military bases, they don’t allow drunk driving...One offense and the career is over..."

As a former Provost Marshal, I can tell you that any MP who treated a suspect like this cop did would be at the end of their career as well. Possibly their supervisor as well.

Whoa.. Why did this drunken woman rush into that jail cell and smash her own face on the bench?

Good luck managing a country of this size if it all goes pear shaped. I want to know about the undocumented thugs.

Why shouldn’t somebody be able to pull over and sleep it off? Why the hell not? If somebody is drunk, and they realize they shouldn’t be driving, why make them continue all the way home? Wouldn’t it be better for them to STOP where they are? If they can pull off the road and sleep it off in a parking lot... Isn’t that better?

“Whoa.. Why did this drunken woman rush into that jail cell and smash her own face on the bench?”

Don’t you hate it when that happens? And the poor cops had to clean up the mess she made of herself.

“I hope Barney Fife gets everything he deserves. Including Sued for violating her Civil rights.”

The city will pay out a 6 figure settlement, the taxpayers will get screwed, and the cop will still be working there when all is said and done.

That is crime, not a part of the justice system.

Read my post again, and read the post that it was responding to.

Remember, this policeman has to deal with the scum of the earth every day. And he considers everyone not in his fraternity to be the scum of the earth.
