Obamacare Proponents Prove the Old Adage That Life Isn’t Fair

They blatantly took a stand against even the semblance of compassion for the constituents they represent -

WASHINGTON, DC, Oct 4 – “Life isn’t fair and President Obama and the Senate Democrats who gave us Obamacare pressed the point this week. They adamantly refused to negotiate a compromise to keep the federal government open for business in exchange for a little time and effort to tweak a few unpalatable kinks in the Affordable Care Act,” Dan Weber, president of the Association of Mature American Citizens, commented.

Weber said that “while there is plenty of blame to go around on Capitol Hill regarding issues such as the Obamacare government shutdown, Democrats blatantly took a stand against even the semblance of compassion for the constituents they represent. They seemed to whisper, ‘let the public be damned’ while shouting that Republicans are at fault.”

He pointed out that the administration gave big business a one year compliance reprieve, but demanded that individuals comply with the ACA’s provisions right from day one. Weber also noted that the president made a deal with Congress to ease the burden of Obamacare for themselves and their staffs, but insisted that average Americans must bear the full brunt of the law.

These are just two of the reasonable fixes that the GOP wants to make and to which Obamacare die-hards are wedded. It’s a new kind of Fairness Doctrine, I guess, and it will have a special negative impact on seniors. Some of them will no longer have access to family doctors who have the prerogative of opting out of Medicare. Many younger pre-retirement seniors will see insurance premiums increase. All of us may ultimately feel the repercussions of rulings by the Independent Payment Advisory Board, which won’t exactly ‘ration’ the care you get but can cut spending for it.”

The AMAC chief believes the government shutdown is likely to be short lived and have little effect on the daily lives of most Americans, but the Affordable Care Act is “a gift that keeps on giving. Indeed, the law may crumble under its own weight, if the first week of implementation is any indication. The chaos caused by so-called Internet and call-in center glitches may be a harbinger of things to come.”

Weber insists that he is not sounding an alarm. “But it’s only fair that I champion the rights, needs and desires of our members and urge them to put the pressure on recalcitrant lawmakers in their home districts to reform, if not repeal, the law.”

Some will try to pay for a few months, but with high payments, high deductibles, high copays, and insurance companies will start denying and arguing about all charges, then, they will let their coverage lapse, use their money for better uses right now and not worry about the Obama fines. Young people could put an equivalent amount of money in an interest bearing bank account and in about a year they will have a lump sum to use for medical expenses. You cannot exist and work just to pay insurance. Medical bills are getting so high that you cannot even pay the copayments. Especially with the economy deteriorating and people are being put out of work. The downfall of the Act will be the result of greed and non-performance of the insurance companies. The downfall of us is a lot of bankruptcies.

Presidents and members of congress, past, present and future, should have to abide by the same rules voted into law for the American people at large. They are still part of the “American people”.

But once these “public servants” get to capitol hill, they feel themselves part of an elite and privileged class for whom the laws for ‘regular people’ no longer apply; especially this president. He has no regard for this country, its laws, our Constitution, or the people he is supposed to be presiding over. He only cares about his ‘legacy’, which is driving this country into ruin…

All of us will be suffering in the future from the weight of the huge debt inflicted upon us by this president and by obamacare. There’s been talk of an amendment to make congress and the president abide by the laws passed for all of us, but unless we do it by state majority, congress and the president would never go for it because it takes away their ‘privileged’ status. Those people who were furloughed are getting back pay, a paid vacation, if you will, while essential personnel who have been on the job get nothing for doing their jobs and picking up the slack of those who were furloughed. That money comes from us, as well.

Like the “Mob City”, phony president, most of congress has been bought by special interests. I applaud those standing up to the Democrat, hard-line, we-will-not-deal tyrants holding America hostage to satisfy a selfish, self-centered, arrogant and egotistical president who should never have gotten voted in for a second term and when he was, should have been impeached by congress for his aggressions against them and this country.

The central socialist government is OUR enemy!

Absolutely agree. Actually, for far reaching legislation, I would favor a system in which all such new legislation has to tested first for at least two years, specifically on those who passed the legislation.

Very WELL said. Although I’d much prefer that this law is scrapped (I feel it ultimately will be), I’m waiting to see the default rate on these outrageous premiums, many of which are higher than a car payment or rent.
