GOP Rep. Louie Gohmert Goes Off on John McCain: He’s ‘Supported al-Qaeda’
Mediaite ^ | October 11th, 2013 | Josh Feldman

The Republican party is currently in the middle of a civil war of sorts, between moderate Republicans leery of tactics like defunding Obamacare and tea party conservatives sticking to their guns, crystallized by Louie Gohmert saying at the Values Voters Summit that John McCain “supported al-Qaeda.”

Gohmert took a swipe at his Senate colleague, who has been highly critical of Republicans pushing for Obamacare defunding, even suggesting2 they should be held “accountable” for lying to the GOP. That didn’t sit too well with Gohmert.

Neither is my Congressman but he is voice was as lost as a fart in the wind. NOW, with this new crop of freshman their voices are being heard. RINO season is now open. NO bag limit and it will continue until the RINO’s are extinct!

Amen, Art-as a kid on a remote ranch, I don’t remember any “insurance” for injuries and such-just my mom paying a bit of cash to the doc in “town” for those stitches, and it was a good thing.

Government “healthcare/insurance” isn’t a safety net-it is a pen like the one you put cattle in for branding, I don’t care if the plan has an “R” or a “D” singed into it. Government is not your daddy-and it isn’t your MD, either...

And those American jobs won’t be back, ever-they are gone where unions can’t follow. The idiot government gave Chrysler a big break on our dime-a grateful Chrysler is now building facilities in Mexico, costing millions-cha-ching.

New jobs can be created only if greedy government can’t get it’s claws into private enterprise-again. And as long as union whores in minimum wage high heels and garter belts seduce even fast food workers with promises of $15.00 per hour, that isn’t going to happen, period. Cynical-probably, but that is how it looks to me...

Snow White and the seven dwarfs. Of 8 choices, only Newt had the track record needed. Due to the primaries being spread over many months, conservatives in most states had no chance to weigh in. The primary was over before Colorado's primary vote. We had no choices. It was "vote for Fidel Romney", the only choice on the ballot.

Do not worry about what I think. The Republican party left me. I cannot find marginally adequate in the Party. I refuse to vote for inadequate.

Ideas? All these “ideas” is what got us to where we are! If it ain’t broke don’t fix it! Why not just go BACK to personal responsibility, freedom, less government, states rights?

We have allowed the socialist to gain control via these “ideas” to absolve people from behaving in a way of what was once the foundation of civil society.

You keep saying “Bring back jobs to America.”, do you have some plan for this? They’re gone until people start throwing out the Dems and Pubs alike that allow 20-30 million illegals to remain here. Fix that and people would find health costs decreased, less crime and all the subsequent costs, and lower unemployment.

F the GOP, they’ve never done anything to reverse this or any other Dem policy.

The media always attacks the rightmost candidates. In the primaries they supported Romney until the general came. They hounded Newt out early.

“The big question is why healthcare is no longer affordable to many.”

Lawyers have convinced people they have a right to a risk free life, and if anything upsets them they should contact a lawyer for “justice”. And the dumber and dumber people cannot see the difference between insurance for catastrophic problems, or a maintenance plan that provides aspirin if they have a headache. Americans want free aspirin, but don’t want to pay for anyone else’s. Innumeracy on a large scale.

What does that have to do with defunding Obamacare?

A reasonable thought trapped inside the crumbling matter of McCain’s head is a solitary pity, if only there were such a thing.

Here is what I think about the insurance industry. They got spooked by HillaryCare. In order to cut single payer off at the pass, they started offering HMO’s and PPOs. THAT is what ruined our healthcare system and caused costs to rise, especially for the Doctors.

Before HMO’s and PPo’s people carried Major Medical and Hospitalization. Office visits were paid at the time of service like any other business. Boom! HMO’s PPO’s, yes, people could now see a Dr for a low co-pay. Now instead of being paid the doctors had to wait for payment, they had to hire an army of backroom workers just to get payments from insurance companies. Then add in the cost of malpractice insurance and lack of payments! The overhead became enormous. That is why Doctors must practice turn and burn with patients.

I pay out of pocket to see my doctor. It is way less than what he would bill an insurance co. Many Doctors have separate fees for self pay. Many Doctors are leaving regular practice and will do concierge medical care.......no insurance, cash only! They even do HOUSE CALLS like in the good old days!

Health insurance should be for real illnesses and disease, NOT for routine care! If we went BACK to that, along with tort reform, the cost for healthcare would DROP like a rock!

Well, then, by golly, we shouldn’t even try, right?

I mean, sure, you could read about him and do something to increase his name recognition and viability, etc., but why go to that trouble when you can always punt on first down?

If the Feds completely take over healthcare, there won’t be any jobs left.

I'm right there with, you, pal.I came to realize some years ago that there is a disturbing number of Freepers who have accepted many false left-wing premises, without even realizing it, and thus end up arguing over which way is the most "conservative" way to promote a left-wing idea. This healthcare issue is one example. We have people arguing over which is the "conservative" approach to federal reform of healthcare, rather than saying that the feds have no Constitutional authority, nor proper business, to interfere with healthcare in this country.

Yeah. Let’s see 3 in each chamber. That means....the Constitution would be dead and buried by the time there was a 50-50 split in the GOP.

No, it’s time to shuffle off the dead weight and begin anew. Bring the (L), (I), (C) and (R) together with a message of ‘You are, again, Free Citizens’

That ain’t going to come from the GOP(e) or RNC

Did you read what my response was to? Trying to beat an established well funded, well connected opponent with high name recognition will certainly require more than just a “try”. This Wyatt guy may be a really good, really articulate conservative, but if he is only known to a handful and has not war chest to campaign with, then “trying” is like pissin in the wind.

Now a challenger like Gohmert could be a different story, if and that’s a big IF Louie wants to make a run at Cornyn.
