She spent $68 in gas doing this. Wait is there a free gas card? No, not yet? Give ‘em time.

Not impossible when government contractors run it. I’ve seen billions wasted on systems that don’t work.

She didnt know, probably hadn’t heard the news. It was reasonable to think it might just be one store. And as it turned out, it worked at Wal-mart.

But haven’t there been times when large numbers of ATMs and things like that went down?

“Replace “customer” with “leech.”

Well said. Also known as obama voters.

Not too many or for too long, I don’t think. The stores use the “just in time” model and run out of things quickly. This is why people are concerned about disruptions caused by natural disasters, EMP attacks and other terrorism, epidemics, etc.

For most companies with mission critical systems, if something like this happened, somebody’s not reporting to work on Monday or any day thereafter. You just don’t design systems like this and put them into production.

The women needs her ebt card to feed her kids but yet she can afford a smart phone. Go figure. She probably has cable and big screen TVs also.

EBT card system restored

The horror! To think people had to do without their "benefits" for 15 hours!

Exactly what I was thinking when I first saw these articles.

Data centers... or network hubs. My hunch is that this wasn’t a glitch, since as a programmer, I don’t know who’d be working on EBT software on a Saturday night that early and what would be the reason? Could have been some e-critters in the mix, but who knows.

Fact it, this incident has exposed a weakness that no doubt someone(s) will now be looking to exploit down the road by critters foreign or domestic.

Seems to me she should be using some of dat free birth control. We are paying for her food for 5 kids. She obviously could not afford to breed like a bunny rabbit.

I am so relieved. I was afraid a welfare queen was going to have to choose between food for her babies and her iPhone 5.

No need to block the roads, just shut down the EBT system and it will happen organically from within.

Works for me . . . that was ironic “works for me” wasn’t it . . . in reality I have sympathy for those on EBT benefits who are there because of loss of employment, serious health issues, etc.

On the hand, however, those who are nothing more than bling encrusted baby makers and have sucked on LBJ’s “Great Society’s” teat since birth I have zero sympathy. If they get hungry let ‘em find a job, there are plenty to be had that will pay enough to cover shelter and food. They won’t be able to buy their Escalades, 96” flt screens, diamond stud earings, get their dreads & nails on but they will be able to survive.
