Oh, Good Grief… Obamacare Staffers Unable to Sign Up People at Government Enrollment Event
Gateway Pundit ^ | October 12, 2013 | Jim Hoft

In Obamacare’s first week online.
** Millions of Americans were turned away.
** The online system crashed.
** 99% of applications may have hit a wall and weren’t processed.
** The Obamacare website shut down after only a week in operation.

That’s not all… Yesterday at an Obamacare enrollment event with HHS Secretary Sebelius, staffers were unable to get on the website. Trib Live reported:

Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius had a front-row view of the problems plaguing the website that the government established to allow people to shop for health insurance under Obamacare.

Sebelius and Steelers Chairman Dan Rooney were at an enrollment and education event on Thursday at Heinz Field to promote Healthcare.gov, but people who showed up encountered problems in signing up for coverage on the website.

At the back of the room, it was a different story. About 20 people armed with laptops and certified by the government to sign up people for coverage were meeting with uninsured people, answering questions and fruitlessly trying to access the website.

LaKesha Lowry, 41, came to the event to find out about her health insurance options. But the North Side resident said she was not able to access the site, even with the help of a certified application counselor.

“It said, ‘Try again later,’ ” Lowry said. Asked about the ongoing problems with the website and the fact that people at a government enrollment event couldn’t sign up, Sebelius told reporters that she didn’t know what problems were affecting service at Heinz Field. The government has made hardware and software upgrades to improve the site, she said, and it is working for many people.

“We’re working to ensure it’s easy to use,” Sebelius said, noting that more than 13 million people have visited the site, an “extraordinary” level of traffic.

I can think of several websites that have that level of traffic, or better, on a daily basis and their site is always operational.

That begs the question: How much of that dough wound up in numbered Swiss accounts owned by members of obozo’s ongoing criminal enterprise and connected politicians?

They sure as hell didn’t spend it on IT activities!

Paging Representative Issa: Another obozo related matter for you to probe. This time with subpoenas straight out of the gate!

Kind of reminds me of the multi-multi-multi MILLION dollar computer contract my old company UNISYS had with the IRS in the early 2000’s.
An absolute complete failure performed by the most incompetent teams of people you could imagine....

I’m wondering if those IRS folk are still stuck with their ancient IBM PS2’s because of it.
No, really.....that’s how backwards assed the gov really is/was.

you got that right

If they paid 680 programmers a million dollars each they would have easily come up with a better web site than this

This looks like something a bunch of college kids whipped up for a midterm group project.

Ah, Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, this is a US government program that's been developed by the best and brightest minds in the Obama administration for THREE years. It doesn't work because none of the crap he's done does. Welcome to the real world, turkey.

“...more than 13 million people have visited the site, an “extraordinary” level of traffic.”

***

But how many of those “visitors” were actually able to get to the signup page?

This is probably how the feds will declare the website a success. They will count how many people clicked on the site, not how many actually were able to enroll.

I guess the feds thought more of the states would set up their own registration systems. Since a number did not, it is now in the feds lap.

Maybe they hired the same folks who did Barry's Birth Certificate since they got away with that piece of crap.

“If they paid 680 programmers a million dollars each they would have easily come up with a better web site than this”

Or, they could have just given Google the original, budget $70-some mil, and it would have been up and operating in a WEEK.

But Democrat corruption and campaigns don’t get financed that way, do they....

I work for a government agency... all of our computer programs are five to ten and sometimes more years behind the times. This is despite exorbitant amounts of money being spent.

Wow - thirteen million visitors in two weeks. Astounding traffic.... NOT! And all this for only three-quarters-of-a-trillion dollars! These people are the biggest thieves in history.
