House Republicans are no longer a part of negotiations to end the standoff in Washington, Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin said Sunday.
“We’ve reached the point where House Republicans and their leadership have stepped to the sidelines,” the Illinois Democrat said on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” knocking the House GOP for what he characterized as shifting demands. “They’re not part of this,” he said.
Sen. Rob Portman (R-Ohio), meanwhile, blamed President Barack Obama for the standoff over reopening the government and raising the debt limit.
“The president has refused to negotiate,” Portman said. “It’s unbelievable.”
Portman also echoed other Republicans who indicated in interviews Sunday that the fight was now about spending.
“You’ve got to deal with the underlying problem, which is the spending problem,” Portman said.
Durbin - well known as the dimmest bulb in the Senate. I believe James Madison disagrees with little dicky Durbin.
When did little Dick Durbin become an expert on everything? All this whining makes me believe that the commie ‘RATS are starting to feel the heat and want to hurry up and get this over with before their “brand” goes to hell.

It’s the devil shooting that self flattery into Durbin’s soul, I believe. It’s the devil’s viewpoint, he told God to go to hell and he still believes it succeeded even though the result was going to hell himself.
I guess he’s saying the Prime Minister and the House of Lords will make all the decisions from now on.

All I read was the title, and saw Durbin’s name. That was enough.
In the last few days we have been treated to a variety of stories about who is taking over the helm, who is insignificant, who is introducing what. It is all BS. We don’t know, and the MSM doesn’t know either.
Leave it to Durbin to think spending bills originate in the Senate. He’s such a Dick.

The House will vote on a temporary debt-limit bill tomorrow or tuesday- after letting the Senate have it’s try and failing.
The Congress passed a bill to fund the Government.
If the Senate, and 0bama, do not want to pass that bill, they are responsible and accountable for the shutdown
Actually IT CAN! (not legally of course) Obama has been doing it successfully through his Presidency and John Boehner evidentally had no problem with it. Can't really put all the blame on Obama, he just thought this would be another time when Boehner would turn a blind eye to it.

Democrats and liberals in general don’t believe there even is a spending problem. There is a debt limit problem. How often did they complain every time Bush spent money? Yet for some reason Obama’s much greater spending is somehow good to them. In the end, they don’t really care about what’s good or bad for America. They only care about getting their people into power no matter how corrupt they are.
Well yes, you are talking about the Republican party! They also seem to be oblivious to the Constitution, especially as to the President’s powers. That is what makes it so scarey.
We now have the Congress, the President, and even the Supreme Court defying what the Constitution clearly states, so what to do?
It seems to me that either we will be become just another Socialist country or a major revolt will occur. Not really sure what at this point since we have so many that don’t even understand the Constitution, much less what it stands for. Thank you Government education system!
