Van Jones Celebrates Ted Cruz’s ‘Humiliating Defeat’ on CNN

In light of a deal struck by Senate leaders to reopen the government and avoid default on the country’s debt, CNN’s Van Jones cheered what he viewed as a “humiliating defeat” for Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) who expressed his dissatisfaction with the compromise, while saying he would not take steps to block it.

Jones appeared on CNN shortly after the Senate announcement along with his Crossfire co-host Newt Gingrich. Wolf Blitzer began by asking the former Speaker of the House if he would have voted for this legislation if he were still in Congress. “I have no idea,” Gingrich said, explaining that he would need to see the fine print on the bill before making an assessment.

Van Jones, meanwhile, hailed the bill as a “big deal” that could ultimately affirm the “governability of the United States.” He praised “heroes” who worked behind the scenes like Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) in contrast to Cruz, who “went down to a humiliating defeat today as he deserved.”

But for Gingrich, today is a “very sad day” for America, “because the president adopted a strategy of vilifying his opponents and refusing to negotiate and it worked.” Without “fixing” the Affordable Care Act or entitlements, Gingrich said we were just “kicking the can down the road.”

Naturally, Jones saw things differently, commending President Obama for refusing to “negotiate with a party that has been hijacked by its far right-wing.” He added, “The president stood up to the bullying. I’m proud of the president today. I’m proud Harry Reid today. I’m proud of McConnell today. I’m proud of Amy Klobuchar. I think Ted Cruz should be ashamed of himself.”

Jones summed up his point like this: “Nobody wins today, but Ted Cruz loses today.”

Except Van Jones had to resign, Cruz leads the entire conservative movement. Who’s a winner?

The deal is to defer everything until after Christmas, right?

Not really a “humiliating loss”...just a delay of the fight.

Yeah. Cruz is now known as the leading opponent of Obamacare. Van will be known as a supporter.

Time will be kind to Ted.

Who cares what the commie Jones has to say other than brain-dead CNN viewers? That he’s a regular on CNN shows how far the media has fallen.

It wasn’t the interest that is the issue. It was the $62 billion in principal due 10/31. CITI and other banks were starting to not accept 10/31 dated paper for repo collateral.

This isn’t a loss for Ted Cruz.

This is another nail in the coffin of the USA.

This says it all. The Balkanization, class warfare has pitted the “constituent classes” of the Dem plantation against Middle Class Americans. I can’t remember, ever, Americans gleefully celebrating the demise of this once Great Country. Very sad. Shameful.

You’ve contradicted yourself. How is voting for Boner as speaker standing on principle? Call for a new speaker and see if the rinos will stand on principle and support a conservative or Nancy Pelosi.

No, arrest Obama for conspiracy to defraud the US government, by enforcing/granting waivers/exemptions that are expressly forbidden in the text of the ACA.

And do it today. It’s time for the lawlessness to end.

Yes, we have our to-do lists. Before this comes up again in January we need to start primary efforts aimed at all the right people. We need to expose the media as the liars they are. We need to expose Obama as being willing to throw vets, kidnapped children, bereaved military families, hungry Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) and foodstamp recipients, cancer victms, etc under the bus because they are moochers off of “non-essential” services (not “essential”, like his own chef and the golf course at Camp David, etc) We need to expose that he is willing to break not only the ACA by prividing waivers that are expressly forbidden in the ACA, but also that he is willing to “re-interpret” Congress’ laws to remove Obama’s discretion at calling some things “non-essential”, such as paying for services necessary to keep up troop morale (like the death benefit and worship services for Catholic military personnel who cannot attend services off-base). And his people are willing to spend money for 7 salaries in order to make sure they don’t break the law by spending salaries for 4, when all they had to do was spend no money and let people pull off onto a turnaround ramp...

We’ve got our work cut out for us. Time to expose the crap that just happened, in all its gory filth.

How do we the people petition the government for a redress of grievances? Can we sue Obama personally, for his breaking of both the laws and the Constitution? Where is there a judge that isn’t in Obama’s pocket, and who would have standing to sue there? Better yet, who has the authority to arrest the man for his violations of the law?

I would say that he was betrayed more than defeated. I, myself, know that the Conservative cause was betrayed by judas goats pretending to be Conservatives, all the while, waiting for a chance to shoot us in the back. Not that I any longer care, but I reflect on the thought of after the Socialists, with the aid and abetting of these judas goats, and the Socialists, as they did in Russia, Germany, China and other Countries, shoot the judas goats that betrayed their Countrymen/women because they don’t like them either, realize why they are being killed.

And we need to come back in the next round with a bunch more people disgusted by Obamacare and the lies that were used to shove it down our throats. The dems own this, big-time.

But the other thing we ABSOLUTELY need to do between now and Nov 2014 is get all our states to pass measures to true the vote. That is why Obama will push amnesty now. He knows there will be an electoral backlash and he needs to strengthen that plank in the Cloward-Piven Plan - needs to destroy the electoral system so that elections can easily be stolen. If we don’t stop that, all the disgust in the world won’t make any difference, any more than it did in the 2012 Presidential election where fraud in just a few heavily-democrat precincts was able to steal the whole electoral vote.

Just wait till all those homeys get their Obamacare bill. We'll see who's celebrating then.

I would imagine there will be some kind of program that will enable those making less than the medium income to totally avoid paying for Obamacare. Like with taxes, right? If you have a food stamp card DC will just subsidize your healthcare.
