Cruz is an inspiring speaker but a disaster as a strategist. He needs a smarter thinker to advise him on which moves to make. The shutdown has been a huge loss for the Republicans. We need to do better.

Oh, get real. He was defeated before he began - the very definition of courage.

There is no strategy that can overtake the power of the conglomerate, which is, in order of weak to strong, the Senate dems, BO, the media, conservative pundits and the congressional republikicans.

Anyone who says that these powers can be overcome in one fight by one person is talking crazy.

Anyone.

Cruz is doing exactly what I elected him to do. Disrupt business as usual in DC. He'll be there for at least 5 more years, getting up the noses of liberals in both parties.

And there's nothing anyone can do about it.

Your GOP-E strategy certainly hasn't worked.

And who would that be and why was it a huge loss to Republicans?

What the Hell are you talking about? The time for passivity and adopting the narrative and premise of the Left are over. The best way to deal with these Marxists bastards is get in their faces now. Cruz and Lee were virtually the only Republicans trying to stop Obama’s garbage from destroying America.

I disagree.

The American people now know that this is Obama and the democrat's baby.

No more blaming republicans for anything related to Obamacare.

When it all comes crashing down, republicans like Cruz can say that at least they tried.

The is the ultimate Pyrrhic "victory" for the democrat party.

Thanks for repeating the GOP establishment (liberal) line, never mind the line of the mainstream media.

Cruz isn’t even the purported leader here; McConnell is supposed to be (but he’s a liberal). One can make a strategy, but when the liberals in your own party turn on you, what can you do?

>>The shutdown has been a huge loss for the Republicans.<<

The shutdown brought about some changes yes but I don’t consider it a loss when you force people to stand up for what they believe in. We now know who the establishment republicans are and who the independent conservative republicans are. The trick now will be remembering where we put the list when the elections come around.

The shutdown was a huge loss for the Republicans

IT WAS NOT. It's the end of the RINOs who were exposed as traitors and saboteurs. It puts Cruz and those who coalesced around him out front warning us of the Obamacare disaster. The RINOs now share the blame for it, along with the dems.

It's a win that just might save the Republican Party if we get rid of the RINOs and the pro-globalist elitist corporate profiteers. Now maybe we'll stop supporting people who aren't conservative, don't care about the Constitution, and only care about constitutional conservatives during election season. And now, we know for sure who they are.

I think there is a lot of merit to going kicking and screaming over the cliff so that the American people actually hear the objections of the Tea Party conservatives. They will remember a display that shuts down the government when they come to understand what kind of disaster Obamacare really is. The Tea Party conservatives tried to stop it and did it in the open for all to see. They also goaded obama and the freak show democrats to step forward and do a lot of nasty, very telling things, like shut down open-air parks and barricade aged veterans from memorials. Makes for good film clips (ads) and evidence, which NEVER would have happend without the Tea Party, Cruz and Lee. Might hurt in the short term, but it will help long term.

Part of the problem with establishment Republicans is that they never make much fuss about egregious, damaging legislation . . . at least nothing that is etched in the minds of the citizens. They prefer to roll over and compliantly take it in the @$$. There will come a time when Americans will greatly regret that Cruz did not succeed.

Senator Cruz is live with Levin right now and he says that it was the republican leadership in the Senate that killed this fight. He says that mcconnell and mccain and cornyn and ayotte and others were conspiring with reid, piglosi and obama directly to circumvent any Victory for the conservatives. They aligned with our enemies and sold us out. You want to blame someone... blame senate republicans.

Oh boy, the trolls are out tonight.

Cruz has done what I voted him in to do....BE THE FREAKING OPPOSITION TO SOCIALISM. It is the rest of the Republican Party that has forgotten why we sent them to Washington.

So what is your plan? When do we engage the rampaging marxists? Millions of people are being assaulted by obamacare today. And you think we should just sit down and shut up?

You are mistaken in blaming Cruz because the Dems wanted this shutdown. They were never going to accept any deal before now. You anger should be directed at them and not the few patriots who stood their ground and spoke truth to power.

“Cruz is an inspiring speaker but a disaster as a strategist. “

So,after people are finally able to sign on to the Obamacare website and learn how expensive it is, after they cannot find a doctor and after being told by a panel of bureaucrats that they are ineligible for care...

...who will they remember that tried to stop Obamacare?

Yes, you need to do better.

The Obamoids have calculated with 30 million dead Americans to implement their plan.

30 million dead Democrats would be a good start to do better.

It’s hard to fight a war when the losing side doesn’t realize it is in fact at war. This goes for the Tea Party too. When you let your enemy define you and tell lies about you with no consequence this is what happens. There was no coherent strategy, no attempt to delegitimize your opponents like they do to us.

I firmly disagree with you. The gift of Ted Cruz is shedding a huge light on all those who are working against us.

I thank him every damn day. If you liked living in make believe, before the light went on, good for you.
The rest of us have a country to fight for.
