You’ve, We have, all ways been on our own. The Police have never protected me. How about you? I would prefer that they not even know I’m alive. I have enough problems already without a bunch of jack booted thugs showing up.
I wish there were some way to “opt out” of Police “protection”. But they are kinda like the Mafia. Youse just pay and don’t ask any questions.
BTW again. When was the last time anyone here was actually “protected”, I mean saved from harm, by the Police?

Years ago, my ex was beating the crap outta me, and I managed to call 9-1-1 and a nice lady cop came and made him stop at gunpoint and hauled him away.
Of course that WAS 15 years ago and I DO live in ‘Flyover Country’ where that kind of behavior by men is STILL frowned upon. :)
Today? I KNOW I’m on my own...and I’m MORE than prepared. :)
