Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid sat down with Rachel Maddow on Wednesday night, and during a frank discussion on the government shutdown, the topic of Ted Cruz came up. Reid said he would love it if Cruz was the Republican presidential nominee in 2016, because if he was it would be the end of the Republican party.
He expressed his profound disappointment with so-called moderates that went along with this, saying that the Republican party has damaged itself so much by offending every almost minority group that its a guarantee they wont try the shutdown again.
Reid said if Cruz was to become the 2016 nominee, it would be great for the Democrats because he stands for everything America doesnt.
Reid also addressed Senator Tom Coburn calling him an asshole, simply saying, We had a meeting, thats all over with.

There is a difference between being an ideologue and being a conservative. Harry “Pinky” Reid is an ideologue. Senator Ted Cruz is an American. Being a conservative is a lifestyle based upon America’s best traditions of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness—natural law. Natural law is God’s Law that never changes. Reid’s law is the law of man—the gambling table—that changes with the roll of the dice. It is a law that has no regard for slavery and would legislate for it if it suited its needs. It is a world based upon ideology. In Reid’s world the ends justifies the means. There is no truth; just whatever furthers the needs of your crowd.
Senator Cruz does not base his thinking on ideology. In Senator Cruz’s world, there is absolute truth and because he spoke the truth on the Senate floor, he is demonized by those who do not recognize the truth.

Photoshop savvy Freepers I am sending out a Request for a Graphic of the Four Horsemen of the "TEApocalypse" with Ted Cruz, Mike Lee, Sarah Palin and whoever else you think is worthy (Louie Golmert would be a Candidate and the OTHER King not Rino King)
They are the Harbinger of the Demise of the Get Along Gang.
I don't know it seems like good imagery to me, Probably Make Harry Reid curl up in a fetal position.

Sounds to me like Reid is very afraid. Whatever he says, believe the opposite.

They said the same crap about Reagan...I’m old enough to remember.
Cruz or Paul, I don’t care....someone that can talk plainly about Conservative values, and hopefully with a libertarian lean, will dominate any election.
And if they don’t, the country is doomed anyway.

Oh, well, sucks to be the Old GOP. Time for a changing of the Guard.

Agreed.
If we are going to lose, then it is all over for the USA anyway, and I would rather lose fighting wholeheartedly for something we believe in, than holding our noses and backing yet another squishy moderate.

Well, since Rand Paul has his own Amnesty plan and is publically backing McConnell, instead of the Tea-Party candidate, he's not the guy.

Good of Hairy to be so concerned about the state of the Republican party. He’s worried that if Cruz gets in there, the illegals won’t be made available to destroy the Republican party forever and vote for the dirty hairys and vacuous Peelosis, of the democrat party.
To: LowTaxesEqualsProsperity; JediJones; Jim Robinson
Reagan ran up the debt and gave amnesty to millions of illegals and expanded the entitlement state.
You sound like a Democrat.
1. Reagan did not run up the debt, Congress is the one in charge of budgets, and he never had the GOP in control of both the House and Senate. Reagan actually cut the size of the Government, all though, not as much as he wanted to as even those in his party, like Howard Baker, fought him over eliminating the Dept. of Education.
2. Yes, he granted Amnesty, but coupled with extremely harsh punishments for Employers and those aiding Illegal Aliens. None of the punishment part of the law he signed was ever enforced. He also admitted both to this son and members of his staff that this was quite possibly the biggest political mistake he ever made. He trusted the Democrats to follow and enforce the law and they did not.
3. Get did not have control of congress and the most important thing he was dealing with at the time was rebuilding the military and stopping Communism which he did in it's tracks.
If you are going to try and slime a great President, at least do us all a favor and don't selectively present half-facts.
