It seems to be the favorite pastime of many on FReeRepublic to castigate and denigrate Mormons. However, I have long admired their industriousness and planning for times of privation. Would that we all could find a co-op group to work with to plan the canning/drying/storing of excess food for times of hardship for ourselves and others. We could all learn so much from the practicing Mormons beyond religion.
Read it again. He was saying that Obama is going after them because they have “church” in their name. And that the word “church” is a clue why. Obama hates churches. Obama also attacks Catholic charities, protestant homeless feeding missions,, you name it.
The only church he doesn’t attack are moslems.

And the reason “Church” was in quotes was not to disrespect the Mormon Church, but because that is the grammatically correct way to refer to the word “Church” rather than to the Church itself.

All communist style governments discourage self sufficiency. Farms/food production are often the first things nationalized. The LDS operate outside that idea of the collective as do the Amish.

This is where charity is taken away from the Church. Charity is a religious duty, not a government duty. Long before we ever battled 0bamacare, the government had trampled the separation of church and state, in the form of government welfare. Unless his government has had a finger in the process of food distribution, he will allow no food to be distributed. Remember when the food patrol went round the country side stopping to pour out all the potato salad, cooked ham, brisket, scalloped potatoes of those family reunions, neighborly block parties. The offenders were given warnings never to do that again. The food patrol...though they never lined up the party along the back of a barn in order to shoot them down, they did make their presence known. Oh, to be a Food Czar in obombas regime. This is all true. Mr. GG2 although not LDS has become quite acquainted with the local cannery in our area. He has helped out at the cannery and we have purchased food there. It is open to the public not just LDS. The prices are incredibly reasonable.
Due to the increased FDA interference the cannery is going to phase out the can it yourself process and go to pre=canned sales only over the next several mos. This is all very deliberate targeting by the federal govt.
Our personal take on the whole thing is the govt does not want the public to be too prepared. A prepared family in hiding who does not have to crawl to the govt distribution center is a loose canon.

Climb down off your high horse. He’s going after Christians of all sizes, shapes and colors. Self reliance is a sin under this dictator, not just a trait of the Mormons.
