Is Obama Targeting LDS Canneries?
Federalist Press ^ | June 14, 2013

Posted on 11/02/2013 11:05:07 AM PDT by Ripliancum

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS or Mormon) has a network of food canning and distribution centers around the nation, where volunteer church members donate time to can food grown on the church’s farms and orchards or purchased from other sources. The purpose of this network of canneries is to provide food to those who have been caught in disasters or just caught short by an ever-declining national economy. Millions of pounds of food are prepared for distribution annually in the LDS canneries.

Recently, we have heard rumblings that the federal government has been paying very close attention to the church’s cannery network and that the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the Food and Drug Administration have been imposing increasingly burdensome regulations and requirements on the LDS canneries. Despite the cutting-edge technologies and state-of-the-art equipment at these ‘clean-room’ quality facilities, federal agencies have been hitting the LDS church with improvised fines for “violations” they find during surprise inspections. Reports of an FBI “raid” at one facility where agents demanded a list of the names of the cannery’s patrons was especially troublesome...

...Why is the federal government going after the LDS Church? There are a number of reasons that come to mind. Obama’s nemesis in the general election was a prominent member of the LDS Church. Members of the church tend to vote in a conservative block. The LDS Church teaches the worship of God and His Son Jesus Christ, independence, morality, education, and family and traditional values–all things that are abhorrent to the current administration, which has proven its willingness to abuse its authority to go after those with whom it disagrees (Romney supporters, patriotic groups, conservatives, Christians, etc.).

We know very modest producers who are being mugged, buggered and bankrupted by the fed and state bureaucrats, whose #1 priority seems to be the regulatory extermination of small farmers.

Stalin did it with police, dogs and barbed wire... while literally millions died in the Ukrainian Holodomor of 1932-1933. Obama is putting the first steps in plkace with the EPA, USDA and FDA.

I hate this tyranny.

These Nazi tactics have got to stop.

Tell the bastards they can’t make up rules and then charge you with a violation.

As for “client lists”, screw you! Folks show up and we don’t keep tabs on them.

People continue to use the personal pronoun as a linear entity ... like ... he ain't never goin' away.

That scares me if it becomes (and it IS becomING) common usage.

We'll talk ourselves into the conditioning he doesn't have to do.

Wake up folks ... words have meanings.

That’s a despicable comment!!! Most Mormons are decent, hardworking people and they love their church. Bet you are a BAC! If so, how’s the snake handling going?

Ready! Fire! Aim! LOL

Who made this *centralizing* decision? The church, the state or the feds? Just curious.

Our small local cannery is the cleanest food handling place in town. The local Bishop is very picky about things like that.

So many folks were bringing ammo in to be canned they had to set up a separate line just for that.

FWIW all the Mormon’s suck people here should know that you can go once to their local cannery for the price of the cans and other supplies with no questions asked. After that you need an invitation. The Baptists, Catholics and Anglicans have no such facilities.

The LDS website has some basic suppiles that you can order at very reasonable prices. I have ordered 2 or 3 cases once or twice a year.

We use their flour exclusively now, because we got tired of bringing home flour with bugs in it. When I want whole wheat bread, I grind the wheat I have grown and mix it about half and half with the LDS flour.

They also have a getting started kit. It has 6 #10 cans of several basic items, beans, rice, oats, flour, white wheat and red wheat. This will feed 1 person for approximately a month. It’s about the cheapest long term prep I have found.

What is with you guys always hanging your hearts on your sleeves and seeing demons around every corner, deriding you and your church?(you are LOS???)

The word “church” is used to describe the various churches of religion.

Now get off your cross. We need the wood for fire.

I was so stupid, I thought freedom was so well-fortified and indestructible in this country, but it is rather so very vulnerable and exposed. Look what one wretched puny community organizer has been able to do.

He's only the culmination of 40 years of statist takeover, which started in the public skool system and turned out a generation of unthinking drones.

Yeah like 8 years ago when all the morons were yuk yuk yuking about the village idiot's relection. It was a long time in coming. Anyone who pins this solely on the current regime is too stupid to listen to.

This needs repeating since many are unaware :

Rusty0604 :"Isn’t Harry Reid LDS? "

Harry is as much a Mormon as Nancy Piglousey is a catholic .
It is one thing to claim religious affiliation
Its another thing to be attending
It another thing to claim religious affiliation based on historical heritage.
Just like , there are Jews (religious fervor , .. and then there are 'Jooze' (historical hertiage only ) .
Religious Jews pray for Jews to return to Jerusalem ,
whereas 'Jooze' say next year I want to be in Miami Beach .
