There's a metro-park near me that has a sign beside the road going into the park that says "turtle crossing"....

It's functional because the road runs between marshes on either side of it and the turtles do cross there...and for some reason, turtles never seem to be in a hurry to get to the other side.

You could get a government grant to study the answer to that question, if your really cared.

We have that in our Montezuma swamps. Hundreds of "hit" shells in the road. Surprised they haven't put in a tunnel at a cost of a million bucks.....plus maintenance forever.

Moral of the story: Make soup.
