You could call him the storm after the storm. First there was Hurricane Sandy, and then, in the far reaches of the Republican Party, there was Hurricane Christie. The former was a devastating act of nature, the latter a desperate act of conservative frustration that came when the New Jersey governor embraced Barack Obama in the final days of the 2012 campaign. To hear the right wing tell it, the PDA between the Republican Chris Christie and the Democratic President should have been as lethal as a Michael Corleone kiss. Romney's campaign sulked. Talk-radio Republicans demanded blood. Tea Party leaders branded Christie a traitor.
Christie, however, didn't give a damn. Throughout the intraparty fight, the Jersey boy tore a page out of his hero Bruce Springsteen's songbook and defiantly struck a "No retreat, baby, no surrender" pose against withering right-wing rage. And now the Nov. 5 election results suggest that brazen, Christie-style bipartisanship might actually work.
Christie is the first New Jersey Republican in a quarter-century to win a majority of votes statewide....

Is he gonna share the cannolis and bak lava?
Livin large and eatin it up!
The last guy who tried to lose weight for the presidency ended up on a talk show...
Republicans are t__s on a boar hog.
-— It amazes me how NONE of the talking heads on those shows knows what Tea Party/Conservative people really think.
We are pissed off, and we will no longer accept the lesser of two evils as our only choice.-—
Their Ceausescu moment is coming.
Really? I’m disappointed in Laura; I thought she was more level-headed than that.
The Rise of the RINOs!
Scarborough can go straight to hell and take Christie with him!!
Pure distraction, are we going to let them redirect use every time they get in a bind? It’s three years off and we have plenty to get our attention right now.
I don’t blame the GOP establishment for thinking that. Last two times when McCain and Romney were nominated, both terrible RINO’s, the tea party and conservatives fell in line. If Christie is nominated it will be just like Romney and McCain, except instead of using Obama as a boogeyman to make us fall in line, it will be Hillary.
I wonder what would happened if conservatives for once stood their ground and did NOT vote for the RINO?
Obama has destroyed the country already. Electing a Rino Republican would be meaningless.
We might have hope if we elected a conservative, but even then we are in dire straights.
Nobody fell in line, they stayed home.
Ingram’s been with the RNC for years, she just likes to pretend she is with conservatives, because she wants the ratings.
Not this time.
If the repubs nominate a rino, I will only vote for non-rino candidates on the rest of the ballot.
Christie would have to buy a couple of AR15s, start asking for President Obama’s school records, and start singing the “Yellow Rose of Texas” before I would even consider voting for him. :-D
I think that sort of happened with Romney, I think he got fewer votes than McCain.
I agree with you, and I will do the same.
It would be nice if we could start a movement, but the very things that. make us conservatives (free will, independence, individualism) work against us.
There are many on Free republic who won't vote for her because they have their own favorite candidate and will not unite behind a common candidate, and there are many GOP water carriers here that would ONLY vote for Christie or bush because the party tells them they are the only candidates who are 'electable'.
