In the U.S. Capitol basement, an auditorium full of congressional staff grapples with the consequences of how their bosses upstairs wrote the Affordable Care Act.

Starting Monday, they will have to choose a health care plan.

"A lot of employees are planning to separate because of this," one man stood up and declared at the first-ever congressional orientation for Obamacare. By "separate," he meant quit. It was one of many sharp moments of concern at the two information sessions set up by House administrators Thursday.

Several expressed doubts and fears about leaving their familiar federal employees plan and switching to the exchange, including a little-known but potentially costly issue.

Comrades! We must stand shoulder-to-shoulder ... blah blah blah
(Not even the cafeteria workers ladling out this slop can stand the thought of eating it.)

I’m really having a hard time having sympathy for any of these staffers. The work for the most elite of the elite in this country. Daily plying their bosses (Rabid Dem Ideologues and Quisling RINOs) with dissembling BS to spew back to the sheep at home about this show vote, or that one - and yes, we are conservative - I voted for it before I voted against it.

If you watch almost any movie where the forces of good are battling the disciples of the Devil who are trying to incarnate him, his son (or daughter) somehow to rule the world in darkness, you’ll find a common thread. The devil, or offspring almost always eats/kills/maims these erstwhile helpers. Why? He/she/it just can’t help it - it’s in his/her/its nature.

That’s what is happening to these ‘disciples’.

But look at the opportunity this creates! Staffers have a lot of power on the hill. If we could get a bunch of tea party / conservative people applying for the new job openings, maybe there would be ‘change we can believe in’ on the hill!

I think there is a huge difference between DC staffers and home state local staffers. Washington DC is infested with these professional nomads who only seem to roam the halls of government. Changing staffing positions - some even switching sides for the right staff position.

You get rid of one (BTW, none of them are really going to quit),twenty more protégés pop up.

Largely, these Congressmen and Senators are not going to hire honest, trustworthy patriots with scruples; they are only concerned with power and control and the money that goes with, and scruples isn’t in that recipe.

One of the Lefties I work with is using FEHB and is a proponent of Zero-Care because he thinks he is safe and that his plan won't change and become more expensive (he thinks he has his cake so why care about the Nation). Hope to be able to see his face when the hammer falls - he doesn't realize that the "F" in FEHB stands for "Federal" and the federal government will not put out advance notice about how it is screwing the believers because so many are solid democrap voters.

The threat to quit is just another trick in the DC establishment's bag of tricks developed over a century by inumerable hordes of legislative aides and staff coming and going in Washington.

No way will they quit their cushy, tenured jobs, even though they may have to be satisfied with the same insurance as the unwashed masses in flyover country. Tough rocks.

They laid down with their corrupt, sleazy, unprincipled bosses, now they're complainng about bed sores.

When and IF they do “seperate” (quit), I will be anxiously awaiting to hear their stories on how things are being planned for the future. Hopefully they will be allowed to live long enough to give us some of the pending truths.

Why are they “concerned” about it now? Hell they would not even read it before they voted on it. They are just as guilty as obama. They do not represent us at all.

Congress couldn’t write the directions on how to eat a ham sandwich. These staffers wrote the bill; now join the rest of us!

The “staffers” for the last 20 years “wrote” this crap legislation. It sat in their desk drawers until they piled it all together and passed it (on Christmas eve late at night). I really believe no one read the 2000+ page bill...all 20+ years of toxic LIB/DIM ideas. Now they are whining?????? They should all be arrested, tried (and, if convicted) placed in solitary for the rest of their worthless existence. What a bunch of imperial asses.

Oops. The Obamunites really screwed the pooch on this one: some of the lesser members of the U.S. Politburo accidentally go classified as peasants.
