I think you need to brush up on your Bible a little bit, there is only one Judge and it is certainly not you... mes 4:11-12 “Speak not evil one of another, brethren. He that speaketh evil of his brother, and judgeth his brother, speaketh evil of the law, and judgeth the law: but if thou judge the law, thou art not a doer of the law, but a judge.

I think you need a complete re-read of the book of James & the rest of the New Testament! First of all, Jesus Himself referenced the legalists of His day -- the Pharisees -- as anything but children of God (called them children of Satan in the latter part of John 8) ... Jesus hardly referenced legalists as His "brother"...

In the New Testament, "brother" is either a reference to a "flesh and blood" brother or a fellow church fellowship brother -- NOT to every cultist/occultist under the sun! And since you cite a verse using the "one...another" language, the few dozen "one another" references in the New Testament apply to Christians,/I> and how they treat fellow Christians.

The book of James isn't some "handbook" for ethics for the population-at-large...'twas written to Jewish Christians:

"To the twelve tribes scattered among the nations: Greetings. 2 Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3 because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance." (James 1). [It'd be ludicrous for say, a polytheist or pagan to be receiving "faith" counsel and to "consider it pure joy" about trials]

Hence, these are references to Christians how they are to treat fellow Christians...it's not a legalistic "thou shalt" on how Christians were to address either polytheists or legalists -- of which Mormons are both.

For that, you can go to passages like Jude 3 and 2 Cor. 10:3-5. Jude says we are to contend for the faith ONCE delivered to the saints; and Paul says we are to bring down strongholds, pretensions, and arguments that raise themselves up vs. the knowledge of God.

If you think counterfeits should stay as is, be sure to call your Congressmen and tell them to stop all govt funding to stop counterfeiters and identity thieves out there. What's done financially is certainly done spiritually.

Nice reductionism...Try clicking on the "Farmers Face Off with LDS Church" link at post's end (#41).

Even a Mormon farmer was objecting to the Mormon church's practice with its Idaho operations.

1 Timothy 6:17-19 (King James Version)

17 Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;

18 That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate;

19 Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.

That would presume obviously that Mormons are not Christians of which you have already passed judgement. So if the only true Judge deems them to be Christians then you are basically screwed becuase you have already judged them in your heart.

A) The Mormons have their own Bible, no? (B) It’s not my place, or yours, to tell that sect what to do with money collected from their members (C) I couldn’t care less what the Mormons spend THEIR money on, it didn’t come out of my pocket (D) Was FreeRepublic set up as a religious debating society?

1 Corinthians 3:12-15 ESV

Now if anyone builds on the foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw— each one’s work will become manifest, for the Day will disclose it, because it will be revealed by fire, and the fire will test what sort of work each one has done. If the work that anyone has built on the foundation survives, he will receive a reward. If anyone’s work is burned up, he will suffer loss, though he himself will be saved, but only as through fire.

The Mormon community is... 2. They show their commitment to their religion by performing missionary work

Well, the Hare Krishnas, when they used to hit up people at airports, were growing then, too!

Jim Jones' church in the Bay Area grew leaps & bounds pre-Guyana days.

The Wahhabi Muslims especially fund their version of Islamic growth; and some Pakistani groups have been quite zealous with great missionary zeal for a long time!

So... are you just making a general observation ... or are you saying something that sanctions all such means utilized by cultists to grow their cult or world religion?

4. They are more conservative politically than some other mainline religions 5. They actually have kids.

Do you realize #4 & #5 apply to Muslims as well? Muslims are against abortion & homosexuality & gay marriage...putting them well to the right of denominations like Presbyterian Church USA & the ELCA. And it's precisely because the Muslim immigrants are having kids -- and Europeans in general are not -- that Islam is slowly taking over Western Europe.

I am not a Mormon, but I don’t begrudge their success.

So...are we going to then hear you say the same thing about...
...Muslims...? (You don't begrudge their growth or success?)
...Or how about the other cults that have historically shown similar "missionary-minded zeal"...?
...You're gonna endorse their religious successes, too? 3. They help each other out 4. They are more conservative politically than some other mainline religions 5. They actually have kids. 6. They have awesome prepper info. They are also required to prepare their homes for tough times.

So you’re on a one-man crusade to save everyone in the LDS, RLDS, FLDS and etc. from hell? Seriously?

Yes, of course seriously. What do you think that a large part of being a Christian is?

“Do good.....? Only for mormonS and they must lay it back - that’s not charity or good”

I’m fine with churches taking steps to look after their own, and others.

I have never been a Mormon, but do know the Mormon church in my area, is part of an interfaith council which does charitable work.

Food drives, for the poor and needy, etc.

I’m able to simultaneously disagree with their theology, honor their right believe it, and recognize their good works.

Some people change religions and just leave, and some people change religions and harbor huge resentments for their lifetimes.

I consider the daily anti-Mormon thread here to exemplify the latter.

Glad you’re in a position to settle that so definitively. I’ll leave that up to the Big Guy. As for a choice between trusting resources to a Mormon, a socialist, or an atheist - I’ll take the Mormon every day of the week and twice on Sunday.
