Reuters) - President Barack Obama made a pitch on Friday to create jobs by fixing roads, dredging ports and modernizing the air traffic control system, urging Congress to focus on these investments as it tries to work out a budget deal by a January deadline.
The visit the Port of New Orleans was an opportunity for Obama to focus on the economy and take attention away from the controversy around the launch of his signature healthcare insurance program, widely known as Obamacare.
Obama pledged, however, to fix the malfunctioning Healthcare.gov website, and took a veiled jab at Louisiana's Republican Governor Bobby Jindal, who was in the audience, for failing to support a key plank of Obamacare.

Ya, remember Porkulus, going back to the earliest days of the Obama era??? If I recall, it was supposed to go to beefing up infrastructure. How was that money spent?? Do we know? Will we ever know???
So, was $800 billion then not enough???
I think at a minimum we should be able to know where the Porkulus money went, what spending was effective, what spending may not have been effective, in order to assess whether we need more Porkulus type bills.
Good way to look at it.
Infrastructure--built at prevailing (union) wages by minority (women, gay, black) constituency-owned firms. A twofer on wealth transfer to O-pets.

Worse, that was sold as a one-time expense, but they rolled it into the annual budget and have used continuing resolutions to keep spending at that level. So he already has his $800B stimulus package. He just needs to redirect it to something useful.
Assuming Biden would oversee things again, he could put up a website called the Dredge Report
