“Traveled in open car”—In those days Presidents traveled in OPEN cars to be “close to the people”. See old films of Roosevelt, Truman, Eisenhower- They all “paraded” that way. Kennedy when walking, would walk up to the barriers and shake the crowds hands.

That "Smoking Gun" theory makes sense, I watched the "Missing Bullet", you know that one 15 year old kid Amos Euins initially pointed out the 6th floor to the Police who moved on it. Still a lot of interesting stuff. A Marine doesn't generally shoot his Prez. Is their any reason to think the below is faked?

Great point. But good luck getting all the conspiracy nuts (even on FR) to even consider it.

Jack Ruby didn’t shoot JFK.

Or the Lone Nutters on FR to believe in it. Glad you call over 70% of the American Public consistent in this view and in fact, Assassination Witness James Tague who was injured as well in the assassination nuts. Your logic is very rational.

JFK certainly did push his luck, 1960 election stolen, all those affairs. He didn’t deserve it but he seemed to push his luck alright.

Thanks Kaslin.
"Good afternoon," he said. "I'm Lee Harvey Oswald."
Yeah, right. He was introduced as "Lee Oswald", and went by Lee; the "Harvey" middle name has been attached since his arrest and murder in 1963 in order to avoid litigation for libel against news sources, by any other "Lee Oswalds" living in the US.

In the name of fair play, it appears this document is dismissed largely as a forgery, fraud.

However, at the same time, the House Select Committee on Assassination in the ‘70s still checked out possible ties of Oswald to the CIA.

And of course he almost got us in a nuclear exchange with Russia.
Most people don’t realize how close that was.

And the odds caught up with JFK.

There was a lot of hostility in Dallas and Texas for Kennedy. They were tempting fate and JFK lost.

A trip to Chicago by JFK was cancelled only weeks before.

The Omen in Chicago: the I-Team has discovered not just one, but two plots to cut down JFK in Chicago in early November, 1963, and an intriguing backstory of bungling by the government agencies protecting him.

....

An hour later, the White House scrubbed JFK’S trip.

“Since the president’s life was in such severe danger, that was the reason he cancelled the trip to Chicago— the assassination threat,” said Bolden. “

The Chicago plan didn’t work out so they simply waited until Dallas.

Thanks, BeadCounter.

I wonder if Oswald knew the Marine shooter in Chicago? LOL

History: Castro was supported by the Eisenhower State Department and the reigning despot, Fulgencio Batista, was forced to flee. The US welcomed Castro as a nationalist, which he posed as one, hiding his communism until he had consolidated power.

Castro's Communist background was well known even to our ambassador to Cuba at the time, Earl E. T. Smith. Smith tried to warn the Eisenhower State Dept about Castro but was totally ignored. Personnel sent to Cuba during this period weren't even debriefed by our own ambassador but instead were sent to Castro sympathizer NYT reporter Herbert L. Matthews.

Ambassador Smith revealed this entire sordid story in his book The Fourth Floor: An Account of the Castro Communist Revolution (1962).

The Castro revolution was manufactured right here is the good old USA by Eisenhower and his State Dept.
