So.... The obamites spend several hundred million bucks failing to create a website that already exists? That’s a whole new level of incompetence.

No. Its $600 million dollars worth of corruption and money laundering. Right out in plain sight.

I thought we were going to slip past the increases since we didn’t get a notice. No such luck. Found out the hard way on pay day. Insurance can be added to that old saying about death and taxes.

Fortunately I have my company plan.

However if I were forced into the exchanges. The Plan for my family would be ~ 12K/yr with a 12K deductible. Completely unfordable...

We haven’t used 12K of healthcare in the past 5+ years. They sure are making money off of some one.

I think that is the whole point of the web site at least it functions so you can go in and get that info. The only people who this is really going to help is those who want insurance but are unable to purchase due to pre-existing conditions. There seems to be a lot of sticker shock about the cost but the prices seem very reasonable to me after what I have paid over the years through Florida’s one man group option for self employed people. I have a couple of long standing well managed conditions which prevent me from getting “normal” insurance. Price is always relative. Wait until they make your employer add the true cost of your insurance to your taxable income there will be more wailing and gnashing of teeth. The camels nose in under the tent and the statist’s goal is to make all of us so miserable we will welcome single payer with open arms.

This site doesn't say what the deductibles are that most people will never be able to reach. That should be added to the cost of the plan since the "insured" will definitely be paying that out of pocket along with the monthly premium amount that will be deducted from their bank accounts. The dimwits like to brush that little detail under the rug. I guess to paraphrase Nancy Peelousy, "You have to purchase the plan to see what's in the plan".

Obamacare has one goal for the dimwit party that has created a number of entitlement programs which will bankrupt this nation in the next few years.

The dimwit party needs to control our healthcare to ensure fewer people live long enough to take advantage of these entitlement programs. The dimwits talk about healthcare savings but it is not for the people. They need to control the cost of healthcare for the government programs the government offers and this is how the dimwit party wants to bend the cost of these programs downward. Once the party of BIGGER GOVERNMENT (dimwits) has taken control of your healthcare and they will decide what treatments you receive as you age.

If you doubt this, keep one thing in mind. When Social Security passed in 1935 the American lifespan was 65 years. How old did you have to be in 1935 to get S/S? You had to be 65, so there was no expectation that this entitlement would benefit the people to the extent that it has. Now we have an average lifespan of 79 years so the dimwit partyy wants to limit the government’s exposure to this program by not offering medical treatments as we get close to 67 years of age which will be justifiable to the dimwits and their government run healthcare. Can they do this? Yes. A clause in the AHCA allows the government to step in and sell healthcare at which point all private healthcare companies will no longer be able to compete and in a short period of time will not be profitable enough to survive as the government program does not need to be profitable.

Like to know which page that ACA clause you mentioned at the end of your post can be found. Sounds bad!

A few years ago our company moved its health plan to what they call Consumer Driven plans.

The deductibles are very high so its basically a catastrophic health plan with the added bonus that you have to submit biometric information such as blood work, BMI, etc. (or you pay even more)

I wasn’t real happy with this plan so I shopped private insurance and found plans that were pretty much the same at about the same price as what I am paying now through the company play.

So the costs are already being pushed on the employees. The difference is the all important group plan vs individual plan. (If you get sick they can’t cancel or raise your rates).

These Health Care exchanges are a different beast altogether. If you’re above a certain income they are very expensive (much higher than market rates). They have to be this way so lower income people can be subsidized .

They don’t call it a tax, because technically it is outside the government. But in reality it is a huge tax.

The MC can’t take too many more of these hits. Also good bye to demand for product from tapped out consumers.

That does sound intrusive for a health plan. It is relatively easy to get private insurance at good rates if you do not have any preexisting conditions. The insurance companies do not give you credit for properly managing your chronic conditions.

So, if I come to your house and use your computer it will know it's me?
Probably not but I'll know you're a fraud and not welcome to use my computer let alone come in my house.

Interesting. Don’t fully understand it but it looks like for our family of six we’d be 300-400 dollars more a month just on premiums. Don’t know the rest. We already pay a lot.

We’re in CA. , they wanted The sites listed do not show since we have a State Exchange. When I took a look at it the comparable Plan was about $1,500.00 a Month.

Currently on COBRA, Two Adults, No Children.
Monthly Premium for an HMO is $1,375.00.

Checked out pricing from my Company Retirement Plan.
Close to same coverage is $1,425.00 per Month.

Staying with COBRA for the time being. I remember when the Mortgage Payment on my first House was only $217.00. Sigh

For a Comparable Plan through the Exchange, the Premium is $1,500 a Month. We make too much money I guess.
