OK, but how come so many kids born in the late 1940s, and gone to school and lived in the (pardon the cliche) Ozzie and Harriet world of the 1950s, said the pledge of alliegance and even a little prayer before school started became counter-culture hippies in the 1960s? Sometimes things aren’t so cut and dry.

I'd say it is cut and dry. A patient who gets pneumonia doesn't look sick, or feel sick the instant he is infected with a virus or bacteria. It takes time for the fever and chills to manifest themselves. The hippie culture was the fever. The infection started 150 years ago.

It is cut and dry because they attended K-12 single-payer and socialist entitlement schools that were essentially godless in their worldview. Yes, there may have been a nod to God in the morning with a Lord's Prayer, but what did that teach?

Answer #1: It taught that we as a nation can nod to God and then put Him in a drawer for the rest of the day.

Answer #2: It taught this generation that any voting mob that can give them tuition-free schooling and lots of fun ( and sports and theater and art, and cheerleading, and marching band, and proms, etc.) is also powerful enough to give them **LOTS** of free stuff.

Answer #3: Bill Ayers did not get where he was without a lot of mentoring and help from men in academia of my father's generation ( born 1913). The men in academia that trained Bill Ayers were trained by the **same** people who taught in the government's K-12 socialist-entitlement schools of the 50s and 60s. The Marxist rot in academia has been there for more than 100 years. These are the Marxists who did train the teachers of the last century and are training teachers today.

If we send children to compulsory-funded and compulsory attendance socialist-entitlement schools the nation's children will learn to be comfortable with socialism and government compulsion. It only took one to three generations of compulsory socialist schooling to give the nation Franklin D. Roosevelt.

If children attend government schools that teach a lukewarm and generic Protestantism, they will learn to be comfortable with a lukewarm and generic relationship with God. If they attend GODLESS schools they **WILL** learn to think and reason godlessly. They must just to cooperate in the godless classroom.

Government socialist-entitlement, single-payer, and compulsory-use K-12 schooling was a Progressive idea born in the 1800s. The Marxist/Progs have **always***controlled the training of teachers and curriculum development. The Marxist/Progs have always been pushing at the edges of society's morals and ethical standards. The Marxist/Progs have always pushed for greater and greater secularism until now the schools are not only godless they are ANTI-god!

Five year olds should be in the home. They shouldn’t be in an indoctrination camp.

I’m not sure I understand the reason for this response.

I generally agree with you what you’re saying.

My point is that drugs initially accelerated the hippy generation.

Marijuana has done the most to put us where we are. It is the great brain deafened and liberal maker.

Fake religious experiences from hallucinogens have harmed relationships with God etc....

And, you are right, this was the initial infection.

Secondary infected don’t even need to be exposed to the same source of the pathogen, they get it from the initial infected generation.

regardless of the age, and where they go to school, conservative parents can educate their children to be conservatives. you harp on homeschooling, because that is your own personal hobbyhorse, and that’s fine. my point is that the issue is much more basic than that. it doesn’t take 8 hours a day to educate them to be conservatives and to recognize liberal bias, so even those who cannot afford to homeschool can innoculate them against lib bias by doing just the basics in educating them about current events and why we believe what we do.

Why is this happening?

If this nation collapses all will suffer.

Even if there are some rational and unindoctrinated parents, these good families will suffer because of the decisions made by the parents who have swollowed their government school socialist blue pill.

Why is this happening in our 5 year old Sunday School class?

Answer:
Because the GOVERNMENT INDOCTRINATED parents ( who are in their 20s and early 30s) were fed the same cr***p sandwich when they attend their government indoctrination camp in the 90s and first decade of this century. Their government indoctrinated parents think this is NORMAL!!!!

These 5 year olds should be in the home. They are barely out of babyhood. They should be with loving family. They should be playing. If there is academics at this tender age it should be for about 30 minutes sitting on the couch at their mom’s side.

These kids are too young to be INSTITUTIONALIZED. ( Yeah! I am exasperated and shouting.)

Some five year olds still have trouble judging time and figuring out the best time to use the bathroom so they can be comfortable for the next hour or two.

When trying to explain to these children how long something will take I say, “Hm? ....About as long as would take you and your mom to drive over to the supermarket.” They really don’t know how long 20 minutes is.

**If your home is Jewish, Catholic, Protestant, or Mormon, another option for the year after high school is to have your child devote a year to studying religion in some formal setting. The more your child knows, lives, and adheres to the principles of any of these religions, the less likely he or she will convert to leftism, which has been the most dynamic religion of the last hundred years. For example, it is a fundamental belief of each of these Judeo-Christian religions that the root of evil is within the evildoer.**

Translation: Go to school to learn that God is supreme and the devil is the epitome of evil.

I completely agree with you. I posted to you because you had responded to post # 49. I was merely including you in the conversation.

I think we should ask, “Why were these teens and young 20s were so easily lured into drugs.?”
I would certain say that it was due to their secular and socialist schooling. While it may not have been the **only** reason, it played its part in untethering these young people from their Judeo/ Christian moorings.

, do their parents not educate them properly about what Conservatives believe and why?
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

The Marxist/Progs are laughing at us. They are winning and conservatives are losing. CONSERVATIVES ARE CLUELESS!!!

The parents of these 5 year olds are in their 20’s and early 30s. They were fed the environmental three R's when they attended their godless government schools. And...This “Earth Day” worship by the government schools started in the 70s and even before that Rachael Carson's book was on the reading lists of the great grandparents who attended government schools in the 60s.

Thanks.

Good questions.

I have had a thought that I don’t like which is that perhaps after WWII, God’s purpose for the United States has been completed.

Maybe. Interesting thought.

WWII and the role of the U.S. in that war was as epic as any of the stories in the Bible. It’s fall will likely be just as tragic.

>>send them to a private or parochial school during their formative years, <<

Sorry but that doesn’t work anymore. The Catholic bishops have adopted Common Core into their school system. It was on FR last week.

The 5 year old Sunday School children that my husband and I teach have already learned to rattle off, “reduce, reuse, recycle” and “ Take care of the earth.”

I might get flamed here, but in fairness to the "other side," not every idea is half-baked or invalid. I myself support conservation & environmentalism. The problem is glorification of a concept -- i.e. turning respect for earth into earth worship -- or taking it out of context, or to the extreme. Respect for women is one thing; raving feminism is something else. Liberal thinking is flawed.

While I think gays should be left alone, for example, legally sanctioning their behavior (let alone marriage) is wrong. For this reason I cannot celebrate "diversity" -- another distorted concept, and an excuse to get away with anything. Some groups can get along only by living apart.

Liberals have a dangerously simplistic -- or rather, egocentric -- view of things. They will support free speech, as long as it's PC. My advice to anyone reading (or having to read) a liberal publication or watch a liberal-slanted TV show -- do so with four eyes. Then, to quote the great liberals Crosby Stills Nash & Young, "Teach your children well."

These are not really options for us. Private school is too expensive and the home school groups around us are cult-ish.

We know a couple of home school families personally and their kids have not been able to test high enough to get into the schools that their publicly-educated parents were able to attend.

We’ll have to do our part by teaching Christ at home...

This may be more true for those kids attending government schools. On average, homeschoolers do **very**very** well at getting accepted to the highest ranked colleges and universities.

Since you used an anecdotal example, I will use two as well.

We attended a church with many university professors all of whom graduated from Ivy League or the most highly competitive universities. Only **ONE** child in that entire congregation was accepted to a highly ranked university ( Stanford). He was the second oldest of 6 government schooled siblings. Both of his parents were university professors and both had graduated from Stanford.

My homeschoolers finished all college general courses and Calculus 3 by the age of 15. The two younger finished B.S. degrees in mathematics by the age of 18. The oldest still managed to finish a masters degree in accounting at the unusual age while training full-time and representing the U.S. on the national and international levels in his chosen sport.

By the way....My homeschoolers aren't any smarter than any of the children of the posters on Free Republic. They were homeschooled and that made all the difference. But...Even more important than their academic, artistic, and athletic accomplishments, all are highly committed to their faith and married spouses who share the same commitment to that faith. Our grandchildren are doing well as well.
