...a surprising figure that has not garnered much attention...

It’s only a surprise for the “pass the bill to find out what’s in it” Marxist.

“Under my health care policies, prices will necessarily skyrocket.” Way to go there lyin’ king. But you can keep them if you like them. Actually you’ll do what the hell I tell ya and you’ll like it.

There is no “free” lunch. Someone (me!) is getting stuck with the over-inflated bill!

Anyone who thinks the Republicans can just sit on their hands waiting for Obamacare to “implode” and then win seats in 2014 had better take this seriously. Obamacare is designed to replace every single voter who is hit with cancelled policies and higher premiums with several bought-and-paid-for Government Gravy Train voters.

In the next phase certain irresponsible citizens will actually get paid for going to the doctor.

Obamacare is a huge problem for the govt right now.
But it was designed by the Chicago mob.
And many, many Dem voters will not be unhappy with the end result (medicaid, subsidies, waivers, etc).
This article alludes to it.

You are correct.
This aspect of the program is not well understood on FR.
The Chicago mob lives on by rewarding supporters and penalizing opponents.

actually that’s what health “insurance” should be
not pre-paid medical care

So they have no premium, but are on the hook for the first $12,700.

My “not real insurance but I’m too stupid to know it” catastrophic plan made a lot more sense.

In my view there are two things that must be done to control costs

1) cut the tie between employment and med coverage

2) make policies that are not insurance but are actually prepaid medical care reflect that true cost.

“The Chicago mob lives on by rewarding supporters and penalizing opponents.”

Absolutely. It’s small business owners and entrepreneurs who are hit hardest by these changes, not exactly the Democrat party’s core constituency. Meanwhile an astonishing amount of America’s wealth is being distributed to the radical Left through the Navigator program, the new Mental Health Clinics and magical never-ending subsidies.

Government sanctioned looting is all this is.

I’ve had a few really crappy jobs I’ve stayed at longer than intended just because I was afraid of the coverage gap during the job hop (and much too cheap to pay the Cobra.)

More recently it occurred to me that I could have my own portable policy, so I’ve had my own catastrophic. (Freedom!)

I’m hoping to see people doing more price shopping now with the higher deductibles. And less waste overall. My whole life I’ve seen people getting 2 or 3 “placebo” type rxs in the middle of the night from the ER. Now if they have to pay up first, they’ll stay home and stop giving me their damn colds.

Any family making under $95,000 combined income is able to get a freebie subsidy from barry.

Which is actually OUR money.

Sounds like he and val have planned things to get even more people beholden to the govt.

With our own money.

What the hell is wrong with this picture?

It’s not “free” when the non-freeloader type people are having to pay MORE for THEIR policies.
