My membership here will probably be revoked, but I have watched AJA a few times and thought it's no better, no worse than the lamestream media here. I give AJA props — it reports a great deal of world news. It's not entirely focused on Obama 24/7. Fair and balanced — no, not by a long shot. But it seems more professional than most of the rest of the media outlets. Definitely better than Current or MSNBC.

My RINO buddy watches it and says that outside of Middle Eastern coverage, it's not very different from the normal news networks. The Gulf Arab (Qatari) proprietors of the network are not socialists.

There is already a public funded Arabic TV channel, remember the lady who was shot to death after crashing in DC? They were the ones who caught that on video I think.

I know that the VA for some stupid reason chose to put the mideast version on the cable at Audie Murphy VA Hospital in San Antonio a few years back.

Maybe they need a game show in which the contestants see who can crash the jet airliner into the skyscraper first, with extra points given for "collateral" deaths?

Or, how about a version of Jeopardy in which, if you don't reply to the answer with a question, your bomb vest explodes! (They'd probably get millions of viewers for that one).

Or maybe a "Burqua Babes Beauty Pageant"?

It seems to me like their options are limitless!

Sadly I suspect this is largely a branding issue. The average low-info type sees Al Jazeera and thinks the channel is in Arabic for a foreign audience.

Rebrand it with a happy, catchy name and idiots will watch.
