Evening, MAG.
WooHoo! Now you can FReep almost anywhere!
My dad has Longstreet as a middle name. It began with his grandmother whose father served in one of his regiments. So I know more than the average bear about Longstreet.
HIya Fudd :-)
well...soon as I grow a pc brain anyway
howdy Mag !
(and by “pc” we ALL know you do not mean “politically Correct” ;-)
Look away, Dixieland!
I love Ken Burns’ “The Civil War”.
Burns is an acquired taste...his baseball BS rotated on racism.....
in my yute PC meant Purdy chicks
The “Old War Horse”!
I’ve been to the Gettysburg Battlefield twice, on guided tours with a Park Ranger Guide in our SUV.
Once, back in the mid-60s with my Parents & Sister; and the last time, in 2008, when an old college girlfriend flew-in from Colorado for a 2-week stay. Both times, it was in July, and the heat/humidity was fierce, just as when the actual battles took place.
The place is immaculate, well-preserved, well-marked for tours and now has an all-new, state-of-the-art visitors’ center. Quite an historic place.
They do re-enactments and those are sold-out years ahead, and it’s impossible to even get near the little town.
When you walk around the fields, you can almost feel the dead spirits of Union and Confederate Soldiers still wandering, looking for their final resting places. Eerie feeling, to say the least, for me.
So did baseball. Just sayen
Last time we were in Gettysburg was in July 2012, the Independence Day weekend that was also 100+ degrees and just as humid. They even cut back on a re-enactor event because they didn’t want people fainting away in the sun. Makes you wonder how they even fought the battle dressed in wool.
I read an article somewhere, that stated more men died at Gettysburg than in the whole of the Viet Nam “conflict”
If that POS ever did that to my wife, he’d be found hanging by a piano wire from an Oak tree, within 24hrs. SPJNK.
Have you seen Ken Burns lately? His hair must be an old Ringo Star wig.
I love it when ROsemary Forseth dresses as a guy, and insists on going with them, because she can ride AND shoot better than all of em! (Atta girl!!!!!!)
That is an excellent movie
