Taxpayers will be happy to know they not only fund abortions under the Affordable Care Act, they also help prostitutes stay healthy.

Prior to Obamacare, brothel workers at the Moonlight Bunny Ranch in Nevada said they were unable to find coverage under their profession.

Prostitute “Caressa Kisses” explained to WOAI NBC News:

“They equate us to illegal working girls who have very high STDS and AIDS rates. Which we have none of the above, we’re legal, licensed prostitutes.

I see the doctor every week, it’s state mandatory. And we’re tested weekly and monthly for blood.

We’re independent contractors, so we have to get our own insurance. So this is truly a blessing. We really hope that the kinks are worked out and that affordable healthcare for all happens.”

Boston Globe mistake raises questions about how media cover sex offenders

The Boston Globe wrote a Monday feature about a couple that “found love at Occupy Boston.” The story, which was accompanied by a big photo of the two lovebirds kissing, reads:

“Holding hands outside the food tent before the encampment disbanded, they were the archetype of an Occupy couple – he, a red-headed Mainer with tattoos on his arms; she, a petite upstate New York girl with a heart-shaped face and a boyish haircut, wearing a knit grandmother sweater three sizes too big.”

But here’s what the Globe story didn’t say: the man, 25-year-old Robert Stitham, is a Level 3 sex offender convicted of two counts of indecent assault and battery on a person over 14. The Boston Herald today pointed out Stitham’s history in a story that takes the Globe to task for the omission.

“Looks like somebody forgot to Google,” is the opening line of the Herald’s story. The article notes how easy it was to find the information about Stitham’s past:

Prostitutes are in the right field of work for that.

Let’s not be too hard on prostitutes. You hammer out a deal, both sides no what to expect, and a transaction is made, then services are rendered.

Compare that to any number of professions in terms of an overall ethical standpoint. We used to get drunk in college and compile lists of professions that were below prostitutes on the scale. You can argue about the rank, but not the fact that prostitution is, overall, a nobler, more honest profession.

Regardless of the profession, anyone who has to see a doctor once a week is a drain on everyone else’s resources. It is one thing if one has actually contracted a disease, perhaps related to being older.

But a lot of these prostitutes would be younger and the ones that are supposedly paying into the care of their elders. But of course they are not, since they are using more resources with their weekly doctor visits than the average American is.

Your perspective is more valid only if the prostitutes were not footing their own bill for the care (as they are now), and if the doctors themselves didn’t look at this sort of practice being relatively easy, lucrative, low-risk, and veeeery steady income.

More points if the docs have personality AND can keep their peckers in their trou.

My understanding was that they are thrilled that they are now covered by Bummercare for their weekly visits.
