FWIW, I would have always assumed that a dissertation proposal with any grammar or spelling errors would be automatically rejected.

They should have learned correct grammar and punctuation in elementary school. I am still shocked by the writing and spelling of some college graduates. I also don’t understand why otherwise intelligent people have so much trouble with pronouns! Drives me crazy.
Well, they're not all as strategeric as Slow Joe Biden.
My mother was the original grammar nazi. She made me learn the parts of speech when I was four. I always got As in English and writing because of her. Thanks, mom.
They demand to be stupid.
But their self-esteem was really strong and that’s what counts isn’t it?
And these college graduates wonder why they do not get hired.
The contractor I work with speaks Spanish as a second language, just as I do-but we won’t hire even a laborer for who isn’t an American citizen and who can’t speak proper, conversational English, period, no exceptions. Apparently, some college grads from California would not get hired as even unskilled labor where I work...
The leftists want to bring american into the gutter instead of bringing those in the gutter up so they can function in society.
Colleges, not only junior colleges, are having to provide 'dumb-bell' courses at the students expense to bring them up to speed so they can do 'what used to be college entry level work'.
I grew up in the late 40’s and early 50’s. My teachers in public school and in parochial school were all very good back then.
I remember the diagramming of sentences in grade school. I had the most difficulty with commas, and the difference between dependent clauses and independent clauses.

That is an unfair characterization. They want to change society so that gutter behavior is functional.
