Here’s huge news for you: Materialistic sins are the smallest sins to God. The biggest sins are spiritual. Tell someone they have to work to earn a ticket to heaven, and you’ve tried to steal their soul. Tell someone that once they have the ticket, their work for God is blessed, and you have helped their soul.
These charlatans are nothing more than criminals preying on folks too dumb to know they are even victimized. Their operation isn’t about religion - it’s about fleecing the flock and padding their pockets. How’s that square with your “judge not” mindset?

That, unfortunately, applies to all of the major “churches.”
Just look at the obscene collection of wealth at the Vatican, or the crystal cathedral, or Saddleback, etc.
And here’s where God is a Calvinist God, if I may put it irreverently. Or to put it, if salvation is accepted, He has already arranged that you won’t jettison it. Even if He has to put you through hell on earth.
(I equally state that God is an Arminian God when it comes to accepting salvation. In sum: God never said to the world: “Do you feel lucky, punks?” Either with respect to being able to GET salvation... or being able to KEEP it.)

If I judge someone and imprison them they will put me in a real prison when they catch me. Judges are appointed to keep everyone form putting the ones they don’t like in prison.
You cannot lay your finger on an actual sin, because you don’t know about God’s righteousness yet. Sin is coming short of this righteousness (as God wished it expressed).
I see the venom and hatred coming copiously out of your soul. I don’t see anything helpful. It’s because you have probably rejected God.

You should have read the whole chapter; it commands that we must judge, but that we first clean up our own act.
Wow, you’re one of the more versed and scripturally discerning folks I’ve seen on FR. You’re right on the mark with both observations.
Obscenity is in the use to which it is put. Solomon’s temple was one big cuss word, if mere worldly value is the key.
I’ll leave the judgment of sin up to god. Crime is man’s bailiwick, and the punishment for that is levied right here on Earth.
I.e. we get the spiritual part straight. So then we can make a sensible judgment. One that we would declare would be right if we got it ourselves were the positions reversed. It is another expression of the Golden Rule.
If you want to accuse crimes then by all means do so. But don’t just level blunderbuss accusations. Keep in mind that in America, as some would aver, most people commit 3 felonies per day.
I am going to try not to judge others until I clean up my own act, Unfortunately I probably will not be able to completely clean up my own act so the only judgment I should do to others is dealing with keeping my own act clean.
By the way, if you demean God (by saying ‘god’) then God will demean you.
