Good example of “Do as I say, not as I do.”

“Reid is the exception among the other top congressional leaders. GOP House Speaker John Boehner, House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi and Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell have all directed their staffs to join the exchange, their aides said.”

The law either applies to everyone, or it applies to no one.

But these people get nice, fat, taxpayer paid subsidies to help pay the outrageous premiums and deductables which the rest of us don't get.

Practice what you preach, Harry Reid. What’s good for the goose is good for the gander. The communists believed in “first among equals” - the first were Party members and their families, who had special “State stores’ where they could buy western gourmet foods. The “equals’ were the hoi polloi, who had to eat the garbage produced by collective farms and live in communal apartments. The children of the “first among equals” were admitted to the finest Russian colleges (Moscow U, St. Petersburg U) and were exempt from conscription. Don’t believe that “I’ve got mine, Jack” and the don’t give a damn attitude about the common folks (the American middle class) doesn’t prevail in the upper echelons of the Demo party (and to a slightly lesser extent, in the Republican party (at least they unanimously OPPOSED this stinking fiasco.

Senators, Congressmen and their staffers receive a 75% subsidy on their premiums. They pay 25% of what the average American will pay.

"Senators, Congressmen and their staffers receive a 75% subsidy on their premiums. They pay 25% of what the average American will pay."

Which means they can enroll in the luxury low deductible "Platinum" plan because you and I are footing the bill for the enormous premiums.

I’m calling my senators (Boxer and Feinstein) asking if they will exempt me.

I thought there was a law passed that said Congress could not exempt themselves from laws they passed for the rest of us? Oh yeah, they "suspended" that law to exempt people.

We are living in what is rapidly becoming a lawless banana republic. The "law" is whatever those in power say it is, and that changes on a whim and based on who is currying favor at the moment.

Reid couldn’t care less. He is the epitome of everything wrong with our government. He is all about blocking anything contrary to his agenda (and the President’s) and, having another 4 1/2 years in the office, really doesn’t worry about reelection. He just doesn’t care what anyone thinks. While usually a noble character to have, in his case, it allows him to act without regard to consequence.

He has, however, given the GOP another Obamacare stick to beat the Democrats with right until next November. Thanks, Harry, you hypocrite.

Lawlessness is almost a daily occurrence amongst our royals in 2013. Will there ever be another revolution?

Yes the royal wannabes(soontobes?)! We are seeing now the instituting of aristocracy! A kinda modern version of “divine right of kings”. Where a caste system is put in place… we the people/serfs, they the ruler/owners, a permanent oligarchy regulating every aspect of our soon to be rationed subsistence. Laws for us, privilege for them. We see they seek to wrest control of the electoral process from local/state government (NO voter ID!). Governance soon no longer at the permit of the people. Two sides of the same coin… Dem/GOP who compete among themselves like gangsters fighting over the rackets. But who will unite to defeat any outside challenge… like Tea Party. Armed revolt???

Yes, it will happen in the next few years if the election situation does not get any better.
