So then its okay if I siphoned a bit of gas from one of the school busses? How about taking a drink of water from a drinking fountain on school property?
Couldn't that also be classified as theft?

Thanks, I’ll be here all week. :^)

While theft is debatable in this case, since the school had advised him he wasn’t welcome on the property they could make a case for trespassing.

That's a plug for an old TV show, isn't it? Wire you wondering about that? Watt's it to you? ;)

Please give credit for the arrest to Det. Sherlock Ohms. And his sidekick, Dr. Watts-on.
The local W-M parking lots have outlets in the parking lot. In the summer time campers park there and use the electricitty. I asked the store manager if they object to that practice. He told me that was one of the primary reasons they were there. Traveling campers tend to buy their supplies from W-M when they are parked on their lots.
Makes sense to me.
By the way, he also told me that many actually ask permission first. Some don’t. Probably the “some” who don’t, already know about W-M’s policy.

I am going to pretend that your question was meant as a joke and simply laugh. LOLNope. I was serious.
If plugging your EV into an outlet without permission is considered stealing, then why isn't taking a drink of water from a drinking fountain?
Both water and electricity are utilities that must be purchased by the school district.
Neither one is supplied free of charge.
So, if the cops in this story are so worried about someone 'stealing' electricity, why aren't they equally diligent about people 'stealing' water?

Needs to be 480. Many devices operate on 120-240/50-60 Hz these days. But I like your idea!

. my sides are aching. LOLSo, you don't think taking a drink to be stealing water.
How about if I fill my 32 oz. bottle? Is that theft?
Or, my 5-gallon cooler? Is that theft?
What if I filled up my 50-gallon tank on my RV? Is that theft?
How about if I hooked up my hose and filled my swimming pool? Would you consider that to be theft?
How much water would I have to take from a public school before you would consider it stealing?
