Out negotiated by Patty Murray, think on that folks.

Basically means a box of rocks could out negotiate Ryan or the fix was in from the GOP-E, those are the only two choices available for this latest Rino fiasco.

Other than firing half the Republican Senators in 2014...and replacing them, I don’t see much for solutions.

The 2012 Presidential Election was really our last chance. I said it then and stick by it. Had Romney been elected, at least there would have been a chance that Obamacare got repealled (though he's a RINO too so who knows). It's a numbers game now. We might be able to take back the senate and keep the house. But when all the people go out to vote for Hillary (including the fresh batch of illegal alien voters) the dems will keep the Executive Branch.

Unless the States take power back on behalf of the people, we are on an irreversible course as a nation. Think of Great Britain. They keep moving chairs to slow the boat from sinking regardless of who is elected. Unfortunately, the US can suffer this purgatory of decline for 50 years or more.

This is all BS. The sole intent of this deal from the GOP standpoint is to try to avert another government shutdown and not get trashed by the media and, subsequently, the polls...again

RE :”Apples and oranges there. With medicare and social security type benefits that taxpayers have “paid into”, there has to be some period of time for folks to prepare to change their plans for retirement and getting old. “

Nope, Ryan scam plan that he never really meant to be law (’He calls it a moral document’) was basically 'pass my medicare reform NOW to see what's in it 10 years from now' even dumber than Pelosis statement.

No cuts to it at all for 10 years.

Then in the imaginary world those under an age would be told they are out of luck, ‘sorry, we are broke’, at the same time those OVER that age won the lottery, they get to stay on the gravy train being funded by the former sucker group.

Its was and is a joke. The lottery winners just happened to be GOP key voters.

“reduce the deficit by $23 billion over the next 10 years

This is peanuts and Ryan knows it. The US government burns through a billion dollars in about 2.5 hours.

It’s been a one-party country for a long time. Spending increased, although not as fast as under Obama, when Republicans had majorities in both houses of Congress and a Republican president.

The sad truth is that Americans want big government, even those who call themselves conservative often want to keep their place at the trough. They want the other guy to give up his. If you don’t believe it, try running for office in a farm state campaigning on an end to farm subsidies.

Many older people who are conservative still want their SS and Medicare benefits. While I sympathize (being on the doorstep of Geezerville myself), the money we paid in is gone. It’s been stolen, and any money we collect will be stolen from our kids and grandchildren.

The spending won’t stop until the US becomes Greece.

Box of rocks is an excellent description of Sen. Murray.

Lets be honest here. There is NO SUCH THING as a future cut. Each year the congress (is supposed to) pass a budget and no previous agreement is binding on that congress.

That is why we need to repeal the 17th Amendment and institute term limits.

The republicans are trying to keep Obamacare on the front page by making this a non issue.

If republicans fight this and the rats take Obamacare off the front page, 2014 is over, everyone stays in power and we have two more years of this crap.

LMAO!! Ryan, you ignorant $lut! How could you possibly pull a head fake like that and expect to pass that off? I was holding out for some scintilla of hope for this guy, but he now deserves the Darwin award for politics.

Unless Ryan is doing this as a PR gimmick intended to fail but show our flexibility, he has just lost me. FedGov has to be cut aggressively, or at the very least restricted to growing at much less than the rate of inflation plus population growth plus productivity growth. I’d like to cut FedGod by $400B for next year, with a second large cut in the following year. Cutting the rate of growth starting a decade from now doesn’t even count.

The GOP’s theory is give the dems anything they want and the people will see how nice they are and re-elect them.

How can there be spending cuts anyway, if/when the 20 million foreign felons become offical “Dreamers”?

reduce the deficit by $23 billion over the next 10 years

That's a rounding error of a rounding error.

$23 billion out of $40 Trillion in projected spending (minimum)? That equals 0.0575%. That's not even a fart in the wind, considering it won't occur until 2022.

I get it, Pubbies are exhausted from such a contentious year.

What they don't get, is that I'm exhausted with them.

They do this over and over. Taxes now spending cuts way in the future.
These people are frauds.

If they won’t hold to the sequester cuts two years later why would they hold to these new spending cuts 10 years in the future?

These people are unprincipled and weak.
