The Liberal Bastion Of San Francisco Suspends A Shocking Number Of Black Kids For 'Willful Defiance'

One of America's most liberal bastions — San Francisco — has cut student suspensions by nearly a third in three years but continues to struggle with grossly disproportionate suspensions of black students.
District data obtained by Public Counsel, the country's largest pro bono legal group, and community organizers in San Francisco show that African-American students represented only 8 percent of the city's public high school kids last school year. Yet 50 percent of high school students suspended for misbehavior labeled "willful defiance" were black.
Willful defiance is a vague, catchall category for disruptive student behavior that can range from arriving late to using foul language to refusing to obey instructions.
The district’s black and Latino students are 10 percent and 23 percent, respectively, of the student population. Together, however, students of these ethnic backgrounds comprised 77 percent of all student suspensions and 81 percent of all suspensions for willful defiance.
Just as The City by the Bay is challenged by sharp income divides, its schools, too, suffer from a wide gap in academic achievement between white student and those who are black or Latino.

A Southern man don’t need him around, anyhow.
Well lather me in butter and call me a biscuit, who would have thunk that the city by the bay would be full of crackers who would get upset when the noble blacks get a little uppity?
perhaps the people concerned about the “grossly disproportionate suspension of black students”.. need examine the similar “grossly disproportionate “ number of black convicts in the states prisons??
perhaps they can see a correlation there..
when a social structure like the family is decimated...all HELL breaks loose
perhaps they need to examine thats happened to the intact black FAMILY ?
If the black kids learned to behave they would not get suspended.
There are more blacks in jails for the same reason. They commit the crimes.
So now they want to let the black kids slide because the punishment is disproportionate.
That will only make things worse.
Portreo District?
Impossible. This runs aginst liberal education fantasies.
Well, obviously, punishing black kids for willful defiance is racist.
If they weren’t willfully defiant, they’d be “acting white”.
School teachers in San Francisco are racists? My my my.
“Well lather me in butter and call me a biscuit,......”
ROLF!!!
Racial profiling in Pelosi country?
“Well lather me in butter and call me a biscuit,...”
And slap my thigh and call me Shirley!
(I don't mean you, blam.)
Hey, what about LGBT students? Now that we have to identify them, don’t they deserve to be rated also?
Conservatives and the GOP would starve if locked up in a grocery store. “The Left” is comprised of various sub cults that basically if sicced upon one another would claw each other’s eyes out, but for our genius leaders whose only retort is to lable them all as just “libruls” and thus waste our efforts.
“... community organizers in San Francisco show that African-American students represented only 8 percent of the city’s public high school kids last school year. Yet 50 percent of high school students suspended for misbehavior labeled “willful defiance” were black.”
That’s similar to the 12 or 13 percent of blacks that make up the population of the US but commit 75 percent of the violent crime in NY.

Nationally? About 50%, IIRC.
Let the animals run the Zoo ?
These numbers are coincedntally very similar to crime statistics.
What happened to the black family is Johnson and the democrats “Great Society: Dad’s not needed, the government will take care of out of wedlock kids with only a mother to care for them and no father figure.
