7. Wal-Mart now sells more food than Kroger and Safeway combined, and keep in mind they did this in only fifteen years.
8. During this same period, 31 big supermarket chains sought bankruptcy.
9. Wal-Mart now sells more food than any other store in the world.
10. Wal-Mart has approx 3,900 stores in the USA of which 1,906 are Super Centers; this is 1,000 more than it had five years ago.
11. This year 7.2 billion different purchasing experiences will occur at Wal-Mart stores. (Earth’s population is approximately 6.5 Billion.)
12. 90% of all Americans live within fifteen miles of a Wal-Mart.
You may think that I am complaining, but I am really laying the ground work for suggesting that MAYBE we should hire the guys who run Wal-Mart to fix the economy.
This should be read and understood by all Americans… Democrats, Republicans, EVERYONE!!

It is now official that the majority of you are corrupt and ineffective:
a.. The U.S. Postal Service was established in 1775. You have had 237 years to get it right and it is broke.
b.. Social Security was established in 1935. You have had 77 years to get it
right and it is broke.
c.. Fannie Mae was established in 1938. You have had 74 years to get it right
and it is broke.
d.. War on Poverty started in 1964. You have had 48 years to get it right; $1 trillion of our money is confiscated each year and transferred to “the
poor” and they only want more.
e.. Medicare and Medicaid were established in 1965. You have had 47 years to get it right and they are broke.
f.. Freddie Mac was established in 1970. You have had 42 years to get it right
and it is broke.
g.. The Department of Energy was created in 1977 to lessen our dependence on foreign oil. It has ballooned to 16,000 employees with a budget of $24 billion a year and we import more oil than ever before. You had 35 years to get it right and it is an abysmal failure.
You have FAILED in every “government service” you have shoved down our
throats while overspending our tax dollars. AND YOU WANT AMERICANS TO BELIEVE YOU CAN BE TRUSTED WITH A GOVERNMENT-RUN HEALTH CARE SYSTEM??
Folks, keep this circulating. It is very well stated. Maybe it will end up in the e-mails of some of our “duly elected’ (they never read anything) and their staff will clue them in on how Americans feel. AND

Our retired seniors living on a ‘fixed income’ receive no extra aid nor do they get any special breaks—nadda beyond shopping discounts...
AND Congress wants to freeze Social Security payments...

Walmart had $258 billion in sales in the US last year.
A Progressive will go through that list and arrive at the conclusion “Damn, we aren’t taxing Walmart NEARLY enough!!”
I worked as a temp cashier for walmart years ago. Through my one register, in six hours, $13,477 went through. That’s more than
I was paying for the car I had at the time.
I'd say we change it to "Congressional Hanging Reviews".
Recently got into a "discussion" with some guy in a waiting room at a hospital. He was bad mouthing tea partiers, so I had to set him straight. He was reading an article in a Chicago paper about McDonalds workers and minimum wage and $15 an hour.
So I used McDonalds first and then switched to Walmart. I had enough information off the top of my head, that he couldn't refute and couldn't keep up with.
The more government regulations, the better for Walmart. They can afford to comply with them while their competitors can’t. That’s why big businesses love regulation and usually even help write the bills. You are way off-track.
Most Wal Mart employees I have come across speak Ebonics or Spanglish.
Sam Walton’s body has completely burned up from his spinning in the grave. Walton proved he could make it in a space all the (then) big boys ignored. Walmart was designed to serve small communities and support American jobs. His stores sold American goods and he was a genius. Today, there is little resemblance to the core principles he showed.
It is a free country, and Walmart has proven to be the biggest and baddest. The end result? Lower prices and more variety; but at a high cost to competition. I rarely shop there, but do like Sam’s and the ability to get something I need in the middle of the night.

Reality. US oil imports peaked in 2006 and have been dropping since. We are right now back down to about where we were in 1996.
This is due to crappy economy and US oil production increases, neither of which can be credited to DOE.
But they are still facts.
It is likely US will be roughly energy-independent in 10 years.
It is unfortunate that many see no distinction between "free enterprise" and the dominant corporate culture. The former is an ideal to be embraced and celebrated, the latter is often as corrupt and duplicitous as any government bureaucracy.

Sam broke the backs of the Chicken Men who had this county in an economic stranglehold. Before Sam, you worked for starvation wages or you did not work!
He also broke the backs of the small town stores who had private handshake deals with other small stores not to undercut each others prices, therefore keeping prices very high in those small towns.
Big unionized high dollar stores = GOOD!
Big nonunionized low dollar stores = BAD!
Rich high dollar union bosses = GOOD! High prices for buyers.
Rich store owners = BAD! low prices for buyers!
Charging the public less, the Waltons got rich. So what is wrong with that!
You should see that nice museum that the low cost Walmart has put in this area. No barns on sawblades there!
We also got a BROADWAY quality arts center in Fayetteville.
Meijer wasn't intimidated and goes head to head with Walmart and succeeds.
Before Walmart moved in, the land it sits on and surrounds it, was either vacant or hard to hold anything long. Since Walmart moved in, 3 strip malls have been built up outside it and 3 stand alone restaurants and a Staples.
Go to any small town that has a Walmart. You'll find a Walmart that was sitting in what was once a corn field when Walmart was built. Today those fields are filled with other stores surrounding Walmart, trying to leach some business from Walmarts traffic.
Maybe Walmart forces a few "mom and pop" stores out of business, but Walmart then hires their employees and then some and then NUMEROUS other "mom and pop" stores sprout up around it.
Tell me. Did the former employees of the stores Walmart put out of business, were they able to buy stock in the company, with a 15% company match? Able to purchase 1 share at a time by having small amounts of money taken out of their checks?
Walmart stock is around $79 a share. How much money up front would you or I or the rest of the general public have to front, in order to buy stock? A Walmart employee could do it on $10 or $20 a week.
My buddy's wife has worked for Walmart for 20ish years. They live in a small town in Wisconsin. Before that they lived about 40 miles NW of Chicago. When they moved to Wis., Walmart transferred her to a local store, making $0.50 an hour less than in Ill. She's making over $20 an hour and not in management.
How many of these competitors would pay $20 an hour.
How many of these competitors would take an employee, still in high school and teach and train him, to where after high school he/she could start in management, and within a few years move up, even to a store managers position making over $100k a year?
Walmart may not be perfect. No company is. But it is far from the evil menace some want to paint it as.
