Why not leave? People always say there is no where else to go. Sure, there is not another pre-progresive era America but there will be much, much better places to be. Places with weaker central government. The US is going to be ground zero for the globalist takeover. I do believe it is going to be among the worst places to be.

If the GOP wants to retake the Senate and hold the House in 2014, the key issues must be the catastrophic pitfalls of Obamacare and better economic growth. A shutdown would be a distraction. It would take the heat off Obama and Obamacare, and all the Democrats who falsely promised that if you like your insurance and doctor, you can keep them.

I will predict that without another shutdown that by the time the elections roll around that the leftist press will have convinced Americans that Obamacare is the greatest thing that ever happened to America. It won't be an issue. The GOP won't make it an issue. The last shutdown is the ONLY reason it's an issue now.

I'm old enough..... I don't think they'll get it fully done in my lifetime. Just my opinion. But as it moves that way, we just adapt and be successful in the environment we find ourselves.

The other thing that I believe... it is foretold in Revelation. We know government is going to run everything. To believe it isn't and that we can somehow change it with the tea party, (and I' a member) or whatever.... is to believe the prophecy in revelation is not going to happen.

“America is great, because America is good. America will cease to be great when it ceases to be good.”

Think of our standing in the world today...just another two-bit player on a stage full of two-bit players. We are laughed at, scorned, ignored by punks whose status is on a par with our own (not because they’ve been elevated, but because we’ve been reduced.)

America’s own citizens despise her, seek to tear her down at every chance, run campaigns to “transform” her into something different than what she was founded to be. Citizens are now self-serving, aligning themselves into micro-groups so as to participate in their own little shake-downs here and there, never sensing anything greater than their own personal gain. Splinter groups constantly harangue and harp and hustle their way with agendas that ultimately tear “We” from “We, the People...”

We have legislators, so unfamiliar with their roles and responsibilities as dictated by the Constitution that they don’t even know when they are violating their oaths of office/usurping authority. A press corp that has the responsibility to perform the patriotic duty of watching the government on the people’s behalf, is complicit with its lies and deceptions, prostituting themselves for their own selfish ends, while a citizenry, ill-educated and unable (unwilling, more likely) to detect lies and acts of treason wallows in the crumbs thrown its way (prostituting themselves likewise). That same press corp, that same populace voted based on skin color alone, and calls those who didn’t racist.

We celebrate the decadent, the profane and the egotist. We satiate our appetites for material gain while our children run the streets, access porn, adopt our worst habits (and we then proclaim with bumper stickers “My kid is a terrific kid!). Our idea of hearth and home, where children were trained up in respect, fathers and mothers, owing to sacrificial love, offered their children an example in miniature of government (and God, by the way) has been shattered by divorce, by gay unions, by two parents working outside the home, by the distortion that materialistic pursuits brings.

We have torn ourselves loose from our political (and biblical) moorings that served as anchors to our souls. The only path back is, not for a political party to change, but for a people to change. Unless and until Americans become more humble and less prideful, more spiritual and less material, more knowledgeable and less unaware, she is doomed.

Of course, I believe it all begins with a relationship with God (through Christ). The very idea of self-governance requires that the individual first understand what it takes to govern him/herself. And the biblical message states (and it is what the Founders understood) that, without God, this is impossible. Therefore, a reliance on His goodness, His mercy, His grace, His wisdom is what is necessary for a self-governing people to thrive and survive. That we have all but excluded Him from the national conversation is working us woe and we do not/will not acknowledge this.

There! More of the message. More of the facts.

I don’t even know what to say anymore. Is there not any conviction anymore? Ryan didn’t need to jump into this, did he? I mean, isn’t this more on the Dem’s shoulder than the Republicans?

And the really strong Ryan budget — which he put forth in recent years, and includes entitlement and pro-growth tax reform — would have a lot better chance if Republicans controlled both houses of Congress and then claimed the White House in 2016.

If we (conservatives) controlled the House, Senate,
and Executive and the chances of passing a strong
budget were only “better”, I’d say we were screwed.

Oh Divine Providence, we beseech thee, save our nation
from further democrat Victories. Amen

What is most amazing to me is how these senators are elected for 3, 4, 5, 6 terms (that’s up to 36 years!) My gosh, if your guy has been in office for 36 years and things have gotten worse, then you must be willing to see that he is not able to inspire anyone enough to be effective. He’s simply a place holder, and voting him out won’t really affect things one way or the other (but might bring forth a better day.)

Come on, America! This isn’t rocket science...get with it already!

Of course Ryan had no problem agreeing to remove language from the legislation that reiterates the Congress continuing refusal to entertain anti gun treaties. The Dems demanded it so he just had to go along. Of course nobody is talking about this.

"But the fact is, its passage will avoid a government shutdown. That’s crucial.

Why?

A gubmint shut down forces us (and the tax-bingeing-democrats)to reevaluate needs vs. wants.

Less government anybody?

We (the editorial we) criticize blacks for repeatedly voting for the same people that have perpetuated 4 decades of horrible failure on American black citizens. Nothing is better (blacks say), yet only liberal Dems will do for them.

Yet, we have reelected McCain, McConnell, Boehner, Alexander et al for decades after they have stabbed us in the back over and over.

Stupid is as stupid does. And stupid is rewarded as stupid deserves.

Guys, that is the best we can expect, I think, with the Clown occupying the White House and the Demon Rats controlling the Senate.

Agreed. Too many people think a shut down will work some kind of magic. Wrong. It hasn't in the past and it won't now.

We've got a great opportunity to get some political mileage now with the continuing failures of Obamacare...DON'T take the focus off that...that's a winning theme.

Since the 80's Kudlow has been one of the largest supply side advocates. He helped craft the Bush tax cuts. He is on TV every day promoting supply side and America. He has converted to Christianity and left his cocaine habit far behind. You left those things out.

Almost the whole political community was calling for the invasion of Iraq...except Obama of course. I'm not sure why that's a point against Kudlow. If you thought Iraq had WMD it would have been irresponsible not to invade.

All the democrats need to do is threaten to gum up the works, whether they be in the majority or minority, blame the GOP with the MSM amplifying, and the GOP will fold up like a pair of cheap polyester slacks.

Time to try a different approach Larry.

Shutdown will happen now — or it will happen later.

We’re insolvent!

We can work today to manage the shutdown needed (by scaling back expenditures and reforming benefits systems) today — or we can wait until it’s a chaotic, hot mess of shortages, protests, crime waves, violence, property seizures and martial law ...

Hey, if 17 trillion worth of fumes got us this far,, 25 trillion in debt will be a snap. ;-}

Elections, now more than ever, matter..

and so does the Constitution.

WE need people elected that respect the people, not enslave via regs and data mine and such.
