Cracker Barrel has become the first sponsor to cut bait with "Duck Dynasty" ... but not entirely.
The Southern-themed food chain reacted to Phil Robertson's anti-gay comments by removing "selected products which we were concerned might offend some of our guests" from their stores and restaurants.
We called a bunch of Cracker Barrel stores, and the managers told us the products that were removed were the ones that had Phil's face plastered on the packaging. Almost to a person, the managers added, "We still offer a wide variety of Duck Commander products," and then we heard a click.
C.B. offers this explanation ... "We operate within the ideals of fairness, mutual respect and equal treatment of all people. These ideals are the core of our corporate culture."

One suspects that CB (lawyers?) made a huge miscalc, here.
I also tried CB many years ago and have not gone back.
I’ve called several Cracker Barrel stores.
The managers at several say that it’s not true. The manager at one refused to answer. I called the store in Lebanon, Tennessee. Lebanon is their headquarters.
The manager there said that they have recently pulled all of the products that have Phil Robertson’s image on it because of this controversy.

CB you need to know your customers or fan base. Ask the Dixie Chicks what happens when you cross them.
Cracker Barrel decides they have to many customers. Film at 11.
I think the distinction between Duck Dynasty/Duck Commander is very relevant. I see it as a way of Cracker Barrel to join us in the boycott of A&E. I doubt most people know the difference between the two brands and I’m sure most of us would prefer to buy the Duck Commander gear and directly support the family without any of the money going to A&E.
I would prefer they came out and stated their position up front but I think it’s a funny and interesting dig against A&E.
If that’s true F Cracker Barrel.
Cracker Barrel has rocking chairs in front of every store. We could gather at a Cracker Barrel, sit in the rocking chairs and ask customers if they support Phil Robertson and if they do, ask them why would they want to support the establishment that removed his, or Duck Dynasty's, gear? And, why would they (CB) be so anti-1st Amendment and anti-Christian?
Not a bad idea.
Financially, you are right. The Robertsons are fine. However, CB is doing nothing but pissing off their base - a cardinal sin for any business.
It’s publicly traded (CBRL NASDAQ) and you can buy June 2014 puts $30 out of the money for a buck.
I just went to http://duckcommander.com and spent over $150.00. I’d rather give them the business than Cracker Barrel and A&E via Walmart.
In 2014 I’m doing all my shopping there...10 kids, 11 grandkids and a spouse who all have birthdays and wear T-shirts, caps and the kids can blow duck calls. Take that, Libs! No money for you!
CB should pull their food instead. It’s a danger to public health..................

Cracker Barrel retail manager told me in person that they had been ordered to pull ALL items with Phil attached including Duck COMMANDER. It’s Phil that has been pulled, not the brand

Thank you for clarifying. With so many opinions being floated I was wondering what’s true. Apparently what HQ told you is straight from the horse’s mouth, and that’s all the reason our family needs to avoid our after-church dinners there every Sunday.
I think we’re giving too much credit to CB for allegedly being “family friendly”, “conservative”, etc. A poster on another thread has a spouse that works at BC’s HQ. According to those posts, CB is pro-gay, and they kowtow to black employees even when they sexually harass white co-workers. Not sure of it’s true, but it’s what is posted.

When we made the decision to remove and evaluate certain Duck Dynasty items, we
offended many of our loyal customers. Our intent was to avoid offending, but
that’s just what we’ve done.
You told us we made a mistake. And, you weren’t shy about it. You wrote, you
called and you took to social media to express your thoughts and feelings.
You flat out told us we were wrong.
We listened.
Today, we are putting all our Duck Dynasty products back in our stores.
And, we apologize for offending you.
We respect all individuals right to express their beliefs. We certainly did not
mean to have anyone think different.
