of Americans are standing at the ready to throw A&E to the curb. Were hearing thousands have dumped the channel from their TV packages, unliked their Facebook pages, removed their apps and taken back product purchases. But voting with the wallet may not be that easy. Turns out Nancy Dubuc, CEO of A&E Networks, is in charge of quite a web. Nancy Dubuc is President and Chief Executive Officer of A+E Networks, encompassing A&E®, Lifetime®, HISTORY®, LMN®, bio.®, H2, HISTORY en Español, Crime & Investigation Network®, Military HISTORY®, LRW channels, as well as A&E IndieFilms®, A+E Networks International®, A+E Networks Digital® and A+E Networks Consumer Products®. She became A+E Networks third CEO in the companys nearly 30-year history in June 2013. Thats one heck of a reach into the mainstream entertainment industry. In fact, this means the same person in charge of Duck Dynasty (ultimately) is also in charge of Pawn Stars, Counting Cars and the rest of them. On one hand this may make it more difficult to make a statement stick. On the other hand, those wishing to make a statement have more shows, show executives and contacts to reach out to with comments of displeasure over the discrimination of Phil Robertson. -
Ive said this from the begining we can bring them to thier knees if we do it in mass
I’m willing to go to war on this issue. I used to like Pawn Stars and the Military Channel. I will not be watching those anymore and WE all need to let the advertisers know this.
Gobbels would have loved this woman.
I used to like Pawn Stars and the Military Channel.
I used to like Pawn Stars too, but for over a season now it gotten to be less about the pawns and more about absolutely stupid arguments and dumb pranks, and it’s probably due to the input of the same genius producers that have been screwing with DD. I had already decided to quit wasting time with Pawn Stars before this.
I used to really like “The History channel” but now it seems like all they show is guys covered with tattoos in various Las Vegas locales.
Those shows must cost about $200 each to make. I mean they are scraping the bottom of the barrel.
I think the next move is to contact your cable provider and find out which package drops all of the networks this woman is in control of.
Not Guilty.
The problem is a cable system that forces conservatives to underwrite hundreds of liberal channels. Insist on pay per channel grouping - picking a favorite 30 channels for one price... and NEVER be force to pay for liberals start ups again.
The History Channel used to be about history. TLC and the Discovery Channel used to have a lot of good programs, documentaries, too. Now all I see is reality shows which I never watch or like.
Personally, I am cancelling my cable and will be living off the net and radio from this point on...
At first “Pawn Stars” was fairly entertaining but it grew old at a rapid pace.
NOT THE “Military Channel”, The “MILITARY HISTORY Channel”! DIFFERENT!
I agree. This stuff is unwatchable. The National Geographic Channel has resorted to airing shows on prison life. Eventually, they all dumb down to the lowest common denominator. Alas, they have an inexhaustible supply of morons for viewers. I’ll never understand that herd mentality about tattoos. We recently had a local man imprisoned for tattooing a 12 and 14 year old. Ridiculous. We are living in an age when people are more impressionable than anytime in history. Increasingly, people look the same, talk the same (cryptic language consisting of a fifty word vocabulary, with every other word “like”), and have the same tastes. Mindlessness is everywhere, mass man is everywhere, homogeneity is everywhere. Is it any wonder Obama is president. In a sense he’s the one person distillation of the American people. God help us!
I have been thinking of canceling Dish Network as I can get around 15 and sometimes maybe 20 channels over the air using my old outside antenna.
It seems to work as well with the new digital signals as it ever did. The best thing is each channel which used to be only one channel, now carry around 4 different channels.
For instance I get channel 7, channel 7.2, channel 7.3 and channel 7.4.
at least half this country is functionally insane to some degree
NOT THE Military Channel, The MILITARY HISTORY Channel! DIFFERENT!
Thank GOD, I love the Military Channel and was loath to give it up, thanks.
Here’s how to take care of the whole problem:
Carry your television into the back yard, get out your heaviest sledgehammer, then pound the silly thing into about fifty small pieces. Then never buy a replacement.
Problem solved.
You won’t be missing anything truly important, and your quality of life will increase exponentially.
Just think what would happen if every Christian in America took the time they’ve been giving to that infernal gadget and hereafter devoted that irreplaceable resource of time to consistent prayer and tireless action on behalf of restoring this free republic to its former glory.
It would shake the world to its core.
Not guilty?!?
Dude it has got to be nigh on closing time wherever you are throwin’ ‘em down!
lol
You know... if I’m not mistaken she’s been CEO of A&E for about 6 months. And she’s already lost the number one show in cable history. Before this is over with she’ll be lucky if she keeps her job. She’ll be shuffled off to something else before long.
