One of my many justifications is that I really only watch (at most) 3-5 channels. There is no justification for bundling. Of those that I do watch, it is VERY sporadic. Now with this mess with the Robinsons, I plan to turn this into a chik-fil-a type action that will make a statement. I have already purchased a wireless blueray that I will use as my internet feed to the TV, and will stream what I want or use Hulu or one of the others that I can trust....

Also, I find that I’m happier in general without cable/satellite TV. I smile a lot more, I’m told.

I got to the point that the constant bombardment of the daily news cycle just "dominated" my life. It was all I could talk about, it was all consuming. I almost wish I could go back to the days (before I was 30 .....) when "ignorance was bliss." I didn't know what was going on in the world and I didn't care.

Now without Cable/Satellite I have to make a conscious effort to get online and go to what I consider my "trusted sources" (such as FR) to see what's going on in the world without getting bombarded by the talking heads.

So my life's a little less stressful now. And yes, I'm happier this way. The only thing I miss about Cable or Satellite is not having the NFL and NHL Network. Beyond that, Cable/Satellite can KMA. :-) It's only a matter of time before NFL and NHL Networks follow MLB onto Roku and sell season passes.

I had already decided to quit wasting time with Pawn Stars before this.

I'd prefer not to lose the Military Channel but if I gotta, I gotta. As far as I can tell, each episode of Pawn Stars consists of people bringing in something cool and then getting low-balled by staff in exchange. After the first fifty episodes of that, it gets a little old.

I've been enjoying a couple of really good NFL games over-the-air in HD this afternoon, while trading barbs with other FR posters. Since I don't wager anymore, seeing every one of the games (NFL, NCAA, etc.) isn't that important to me.

Thank you for your response to my post; made me happy.

I was in a Dave & Busters this afternoon to see the Bronco's game side by side with the Colts & Chief's game. Both good games.

Now watching the Packers (Go Pack Go!!) and Steelers .... can you tell who I'm rooting for?

Tonight's the Bears and Eagles. Yeah, I know .. I'm in the Chicago area and am supposed to be a Bears fan. Can't stand 'em since they brought Cutler in. (Cutler lives down the road from me.... he loses tonight I go egg his house.)
