Thomas Donohue, the president and CEO of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, declared 2014 the “year of immigration reform,” Wednesday, during his annual state of American business address.
“We’re determined to make 2014 the year that immigration reform is finally enacted,” Donohue said. “The chamber will pull out all the stops—through grassroots lobbying, communications, politics and partnerships with our friends in the union, and faith-based organizations, and law enforcement groups, and others to get this job done.”

An innovative reform would be to enforce existing laws.
As if we were a nation of laws.
Rather than a despotic tyranny subject to the whims of some demagogue.
I don’t get why the Chamber is so hell-bent on amnesty. It seems like illegals are cheaper labor than new citizens. I guess a flood of people in the workforce provides the chance for labor cost to drop due to more supply....seems awfully short-sighted as it is going to skyrocket government spending, taxes to support the unemployed and new government assistance.
I do understand the needs for some immigration system changes...but not the leftist citizenship route. Our system is messed up. The current proposals will not make any improvements to most of what ails it now.

OUR CURRENT SYSTEM IS NOT BROKEN.......IT IS SIMPLY NOT ENFORCED!!! Why would ANYONE trust this Admin to follow whatever new immigration Law is enacted? They will simply ignore whatever they don’t like and usher in many illegals, give them drivers licenses and voting cards. Kiss the USA goodbye........it will not survive this!
The CoC has taken some pretty myoptic positions in the past, but nothing that compares to this. Even that old fascist sympathizer Henry Ford understood that a strong middle class was necessary to grow an economy. It would be nice if they could be at least that smart.
They are funded by corporatists that are aligned with obama and the progressive republican leadership... all to win a new type of laborer... a non citizen that is exempt from obamacare and many other federal and state regulations... IOW... CRONY CAPITALISTS!
There is no Commerce to Chamber so what are these people hope to accomplish?
