New report says millions of women at risk of falling into poverty, economic ruin
NBC News ^ | 1/12/14 | Daniel Arkin

Although in recent decades women have made historic advances in nearly all areas of American public life, a staggering number of women across the country are still teetering on the verge of poverty and economic disaster, a new report released Sunday shows.

The report, co-authored by NBC News special anchor Maria Shriver and the Center for American Progress, takes a wide-angle snapshot of a national economic crisis — seen through the eyes of women. The key findings paint a portrait of an estimated 42 million women — and 28 million dependent children — saddled with financial hardship.

"These are not women who are wondering if they can 'have it all,'" Shriver wrote in her introduction to the report. "These are women who are already doing it all — working hard, providing, parenting, and care-giving. They're doing it all, yet they and their families can't prosper, and that's weighing the U.S. economy down."

The report, co-authored by NBC News special anchor Maria Shriver and the Center for American Progress,

... is about as objective a "study" as Bonnie and Clyde's report on the need for bank security.

A left-wing female talking head and a communist front stink-tank produce a report about poverty ... Hmmmmm, I wonder what it's going to say and what its conclusions will be ...

Lowest labor participation rate since 1978. Two million MORE dropped out of the labor force in 2013 because they’ve given up trying to find a job. Three thousand apply for 26 jobs in a Maryland ice cream factory. Poverty follows.

Please vote for Hillary in 2016 to continue Obama’s economic policies through 2020.

“This report is the start of the Hillarycampaign. She’s been singing this tune for the past week. “Women’s rights being eroded, etc.””

Why should Hillary care? She’s not a woman.

But, she commands (or think she does) a large bloc of female voters.

<< I do pray the Lord finds this a justifiable reason to divorce. >>

God does hate divorce yet He hates the fact that your husband was so violent. God never means for us to stay in such abusive relationships. God bless you and I hope you’ve found a new life and the peace only walking with the Lord gives us.

And Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) calls for "more women in office at every level of government."

I don't think Gillibrand means conservative women.

Hey, Maria! Your Democrat Family/Party ALONE is largely responsible for KEEPING women and children in POVERTY!

ALL BY DESIGN!

How I loathe these people!

Also Catholic and divorced first husband for similar reasons (beating, rape) plus porn addiction and cheating. I prayed so hard for God to deliver me peace and for our marriage to be saved, and in return another girlfriend showed up. I don’t believe anyone should have to live in a marriage like that. If you were in prison, being abused by your captor everyday, would anyone fault you for escaping if you could?

That dastardly Bush. He is ruining women’s lives. If only there were a new well spoken clean articulate white-black man who would heal the planet were elected and could end this never ending war on women.

For one thing, I am automatically skeptical of any survey done by a group of committed leftists. But whatever financial problems many women (especially single women) have today, a lot of it can be laid at the feet of the anti-male/family/marriage leftists who have been busy undermining and sabotaging the traditional American family for the last fifty years.

Women who choose to have children without bothering to find a committed dude first are at greatest risk.

***Shriver said fathers and husbands need to reinforce the mindset that women can set themselves up to be breadwinners***

-No they can’t, female hypergamy prevents this. Yes there are exceptions, but will never become the norm.

The reason woman are left twisting in the wind is dems have replaced husbands with 'disability' and welfare ... for starters.

Then Hollywood and the cultural left told men to do their own thing and 'enjoy' rather than teaching men to accept care for their families.

Women are in trouble - yes - because democrats undermined the families they should have belonged to...
