Two African-American knockout-style attackers in Charlottesville were immediately released on their own recognizance and only charged with a misdemeanor after an assault on a man and woman in a downtown shopping mall on December 20.
Police Chief Longo, who arrested the assailants, said there is evidence of the male victim losing a tooth and suffering soft tissue damage but he would need evidence of more serious injuries to raise the charges. The injuries were far more serious than that according to the victims.
In the meantime, these two assailants didn’t even have to post bail.
The police department never used the female victim’s photos snapped during the attack to help identify the attackers and didn’t assign the case to a detective until ten days after the attack.

I live in a small lily white town, population about 1600, the next larger town has about 35,000 people and is also lily white. The nearest large town, about 100,000, has its share of feral yutes but I never have occasion to go there, as a matter of fact, I avoid it like the proverbial plague.
Never the less, I stay vigilent.

this is the risk if our so called justice system fails to protect people....there’s going to people going off the deep end and killing several people....similar to the bullied kid in school who wants to get justice from all those who bullied him...

Read the article. There’s another side to it. I’m not sure the “too gay to fight” defense will work, but it sounds like it could have been just a drunken brawl.
I read the article several times.
Of course there are always 2 sides to every story. But CPD has a less than stellar history so I tend to believe that this was more than a drunken brawl. And CPD failed to investigate in a timely manner and when they did, the charges are about as minor as you can get.
C’ville is a cesspool of liberalism and CPD is going with the flow.
