Do you know how the distinction is made between the people who were previously qualified but not signed up and those signing up now?

RE: “Do you know how the distinction is made between the people who were previously qualified but not signed up and those signing up now?”

I thought I knew, but apparently the requirements were changed during the Great Recession.

Previously, in Washington state, only children, pregnant women, people on SSI Disability, and people waiting for a Disability decision were eligible.

Before the Great Recession, no able bodied adult in Washington state could get on Medicaid, regardless of how low their income was.

I believe Washington resident “steve86” is the guy who told me all that changed in 2010.

How exactly it changed, I can't recall.

Anyway, today, any able bodied person in the state can get on Medicaid if they meet the income requirement, which is like below $15,000 for a single person, and more complex for families.
