One thing I like about the show is that it doesn't push any agendas or mock any non-PC groups. Even Sheldon's holly roller mother is treated with respect.

Stan Lee mainstreamed comic books for those who don’t know.

Creating Fantastic 4, Avengers, Spiderman, Hulk and many others. Marvel is a money making machine because of him.

Have no idea what criteria was used, but obviously importance isn’t one of them.

Actually, Marvel’s stock had rebounded tremendously before Disney bought them. I was fortunate enough to invest in them before the big climb.

As for Stan Lee, I had the opportunity to interview him some years ago, and he impressed me as the best multi-tasker I’d ever seen. While answering my questions, he was also checking phone messages, sorting things on his desk, etc., but never in a way that made me feel like he was disinterested. He never missed a beat.

i’ve only been working in the field for 30+ years... needless to say, i’ve hung out with a few science/engineer types, though mostly on the US east coast

as far as i could tell from the ads, the effeminate male being associated with intelligence is the main meme of the show and it’s comedic schtick seems to play off social awkwardness of teenagers in adult bodies occasionally making fun of people being ‘dumb’.

as i hadn’t subjected myself to it’s propaganda, i dnloaded the latest episode (S07E13) and suffered through

the characters as introduced:

penny: normal female, indecisive, low intelligence
sheldon: emasculated, homo male, main character
amy: role - smart women are extremely plain, submissive
burt: older, big guy == dumb, no confidence
howard: normal male, small, emasculated, socially awkward
raj: normal male, small, emasculated, socially awkward
bernadette: normal female, small, aggressive / assertive
stu: indecisive, weak, neurotic
jesse: normal male, thriving business owner == jerk

it wasn’t funny in the least. the ‘comedy’ was sophomoric at best, but at least it wasn’t slapstick. the intelligence of the characters seems to be established by t-shirts, references to socially acknowledged ‘sciencey’ projects, and equations on boards in the background. the males were shown to be indecisive, weak, and lacking conviction. overall, women were shown to be strong(ish), indecisive, yet willing to take the reigns more then the males. typical of a chuck lorre production.

there were no men on the show.

you really need to understand memes and how they are used in mass media to shape society. it would help you understand how our society has been brought to where it is today.

OK. I had to look up Burt and Jesse had no idea who they were.
Still have no idea who Burt is but the Jesse guy is just a friend of a Will Weaton who is sometimes on the show.
Saying the men on the show are emasculated is your opinion not the writing, which in itself is interesting
I see them as highly intelligent, successful in their careers and social awkward plus insecure. Amy is just the female version of that. Penny is the only “normal” one, Bernadette has a background which explains her aggressive nature.
It's a funny show. When the show stops being funny, I'll stop watching.
