Peshawar , 19 January 2014 , Two months back I was assigned duty to cover the protest in Peshawar city; during coverage I saw a person whose walks totally different was also busy in coverage of the protest.
The strange walk catches my interest on him and I asked him about his work and profession. The person, namely Mansoor Shah replied me that he is a working journalist and working since 1997 with local newspaper, but now because feet problem he facing problem. I was interested to show the story of that journalist, but because of work load I didn’t remember that person and two month back again we meet in local program and his courage again make my mind to show the story to the whole community.
The grandfather of Mansoor shah was a union leader of Newspaper Dealers Association and ideal of Mansoor Shah, that’s why Mansoor Shah joins the news paper industry as a writer in 1997, during his 17 years careers he worked with local newspaper, weekly and monthly magazine.
12 years back a Riksha injured him, when he was on the road side, local sent them lady reading hospital Peshawar for treatment, during emergency doctors didn’t give any attention to him and because of the negligence of doctors he feel the pain In his legs, he talks with the doctor, but doctor didn’t take serious and discharge from the hospital and after some days his right came over the left leg and that’s made strange his style.
The father of two children Mansoor shah lives along with parents in the city area of Peshawar; mostly he covers the general news, city issue and survey with local newspaper.
According to Mansoor shah when I was healthy and have no problem with the legs then politician give me respect , because I publish their news and views , but now I can’t freely move so politician don’t even ask me , he informs me that a local politician whose attached with Imran Khan Political party ordered him to publish an advertisement during his election campaign , which publishes in a local newspaper , still the politician is in government , but he didn’t pay me ten thousand rupees of the advertise payment , Mansoor shah claim that so many times he visited the Member KPK Assembly home but now he didn’t even meet me.
Mansoor shah said that his monthly 5000 Rupees (48 Dollars) pay, in the current situation, I can’t even feed my children properly, but what I can do. He added that applying for financial assistance sent to Governor Kpk, Minister Health and different government department but they didn’t hear my cries. The doctor informs me if I pay 400000 (3800 Dollars) then they make me normal through surgery.
Mansoor shah said that his friend from journalist didn’t support him because he is not a member of any local union or national or international organization, that’s make me spoil. His wish to again start a normal life and his children get educated.
