NEW YORK (AP) -- McDonald's reported disappointing sales for its fourth quarter Thursday, as the world's largest hamburger chain saw fewer customers visit its restaurants.

The Oak Brook, Ill.-based company says global sales slipped 0.1 percent at established locations. In the U.S., where it recently revamped its Dollar Menu to include items that cost a little more, the figure fell 1.4 percent.

You know it's bad when people cannot afford the Dollar Menu.

It the media onslaught of a successful company and the liberals especially that believe it. I think it is criminal what these creeps say about McDonald’s, Walmart and Amazon too, since I am on my soapbox.

I think the reality is that there are a lot more options out there besides McDonald's now. There was a time when it was pretty much McDonald's on nearly every street corner and then an occasional other food option. That has changed. There are food options on every corner of America now and McDonald's is one of many options.

I think it was a wash actually.

Slightly decreased volume, slightly increased price.

Just saying. I don’t think is was bullish, but I believe it also wasn’t bearish.

I’ll have their breakfast once in a while. Hard to mess up pancakes.

I worry incessantly about some McDonalds employee spitting on my hamburger. The thought of it just makes me turn right around and head into Chipotle, where I can watch them for the most part, making my food.

Chipotle is owned by McDonalds, however.

People don’t have any money. I bet they are skipping breakfast and lunch a lot more or certainly skipping going out to eat those two meals.

It didn’t always suck. When the libs got them to ban lard on their wonderful fries, everything went down hill. Sad.

You used to be able to get a “meal” for $4 or under; but since they tore down all the yellow arch stores and put up those crappy faux fieldstone buildings with a nearly invisible tiny yellow swash on the top, you can’t get away with less than $7, incuding tax. Meanwhile, I can order two pint boxes of stir fry from the local Chinese for $10 and eat three meals from that.

My local Gas Station/country store serves hot food for the workers in this rural area. They have by far the BEST Chicken ‘nuggets’ I have ever had and the are real chicken and about twice the size of the McD’s nuggets. So that’s where my money goes for ‘fast food’ now-a-days.

And because they keep playing around with the menu, staff can’t keep up, and wait times at the drive-thru have increased to 10-15 minutes. That’s a non-starter right there.

MCD serves mainly LIV’s.

LIVs? "Soylent Green" really was prescient?

Can't remember the last time I went to MCD, but it was definitely off my radar when BHO's USDA "quietly" approved importing processed chicken from China.
