A lot of things on the old dollar menu went up 30%+ in price.

It won’t be long before the Dollar Store has to change it’s name to the $1.50 store.

Agreed, but I think McDs must be run by a bunch of leftists because they have a strong history of caving in to the latest liberal rant such as the healthy food nazis, the econazis, etc. McDonald’s used to be the gold standard for fries, but they succumbed to leftist pressure and wrecked their fries. Same thing with much of the rest of their food.

Also, as I’ve noted previously, I’m not a big fan of their food but the last time I stopped there I spent nearly $7 on a “value meal”. Wow.

I trace it to when they stopped frying burgers on a grill.

Steak 'N Shake still makes their burgers ('Steakburgers') from fresh, unfrozen, ground beef fried on a grill right in plain view.

They're pretty good too.

Government Benefit Cards probably account for nearly 50%; if fast food resturtants quit accepting welfare food card payments, their sales would crash.

Americans go to this place for burgers and fries.

But they have caved to Moochelle and the lefty whiners.
From the décor and signage on my local McD, you’d think it was some sort of a Farmers’ Market that sold upscale Yuppie coffees.

A co-worker went to the drivethru last week, ordered 20 egg mcmuffins to bring for a casual office meeting “treat”. He just put the bag on the counter in the break room. Later, it was determined that he only received 10 of the sandwiches. He went back with his receipt, asked for a refund, and they told him no, he was out of luck. Basically they said it was his problem for not checking the bag they handed him, before driving away. He was going to figure out the owner of the place and call them.

Whenever possible, I patronize Local small business.

I consider big business and big government to be flip sides of the same coin. Example: Big government loves EBT and Snap. And where is that money spent? Wal-mart.

Obama is not against big business. He’s against Joe the Plumber.

1. They changed their coffee. I called them about it and corporate says they didn’t change. They did, and it sucks now.

2. Too many menu options. None of their new stuff is good.

I know what their business is, and lets be honest they are very good at their business as much as folks like to bash them... In fact I put 3 years in working at the Golden Arches when I was in High School.. was my first job.

I don’t think McD’s is more than it is, but what I am saying is when they left the pre-assembled burgers, and began the well its not quite pre-assembled model, they shot their quality in the foot. Yes I know that sounds like an oxymoronic thing, but its truly not.. even when you are serving low quality food, there are differences. Don’t believe me? Next time you go ask them explicitely to make it fresh (obviously don’t try this in the middle of a lunch rush, though you can) and that you don’t mind the wait. The fact is when you actually assemble the burger at the time its cooked you wind up with a far superior product, even if you wind up putting that product in a holding bin for a few minutes before it sells (what they used to do). Now they by and large don’t assemble the burger until its ordered, this means that patty is luke warm at best, not hot when it goes on the bun, it also means whatever juice it had has leached out into a holding trough while its been holding etc, so you don’t remotely get the same outcome.

And don’t get me started how much better the fries were before they removed beef tallow from the oil, to replace it with a far less healthy option, that at the time everyone was told was healthier.

McD’s sacrificed their quality long ago for price points, I understand this, their patty’s keep shrinking, their buns keep getting more sugar in them, etc etc etc. They don’t put out a quality product anymore, yet their prices as others have pointed out have climbed significantly overall.

They have hit success with their iced coffees and what not, but if you want a good burger, not a $8 or $10 burger, but just a good burger for the price, its hard to argue for McDonald’s. Now McD’s is not the only one suffereing from price increase, all the fast food places have had prices go up noticeably in the last few years.

McD’s just seems to have lost its way, its quality is inconsistent (something it used to pride itself on is gone) Its service while never 5 star was somewhat reliable and decent is also inconsistent. If you want to see 5 star ‘quick service’ your only option is Chick-Fil-A. They deliver quality across the board, price is higher, but food and service is unmatched by any other brand. I know McD’s will never hit that mark, but it should be aiming for it, and it doesn’t seem like it even tries anymore.

If everyone is a part-time worker, then McDonalds better be charging part-time prices. 5.50 for a big mac combo means a family of four rings up at 22 bucks. That’s 3 hours of work for a part-time, minimum wage worker, and if he’s getting 30 hours a week, that’s 10% of what he makes at that particular part-time job.

As long as you don’t mind a burger floating in its own grease when its served to you.. Of course, for $3 or $4 bucks you are going to get a very high fat ground beef.

Agree with post 32, McD knows its market & makes steady money serving that market. I don’t eat there very often, but bought its stock as it is a steady dividend payer.

It won’t be long before the Dollar Store has to change it’s name to the $1.50 store.

We once had stores like Kresge's, J.J. Newberry's, W.T. Grant, Neisners' and Woolworth's called "Five and Dime stores".

“where I can watch them for the most part, making my food.”

Thats why we like Carabba’s. I also will only frequent bbq joints that have an open pit out front............Keeps em honest. :)

The only Fast Food / national chain my wife and I will even consider is Subway. That is one of the two reasons...
