The former chief of staff to Sen. Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn) arrested on child pornography charges last month has been found dead, according to police.
Jesse Ryan Loskarn, 35, died in an apparent suicide in his parents' house in Sykesville, Md., two other sources familiar with the matter said.
A release from the Carroll County Sheriff's Department said Loskarn was found in the home's basement and was unresponsive when authorities arrived after 12 p.m.
A preliminary investigation indicated that Loskarn had committed suicide, the sheriff's office said in a release.
It said Loskarn's body had been transported to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy, and that the investigation would continue.
Loskarn had been released into his parents’ custody in mid-December after being charged with possession and distribution of child pornography.

I haven’t been following this, how solid were the charges/evidence?

Good. Nice and easy and no charge to the taxpayer.
The U.S. Postal Inspection Service arrested him, having to do with material he either received or sent via regular mail or both.
Now he’s killed himself.
Alexander fired him and replaced him almost immediately.
I would say “strong”.
As solid a trail as a government with unlimited funds and malice can "find" no doubt.
Who knows? The charges might even have been true, in the older sense of the word, the one that used to mean what did actually happen, not the current one which means what the government says actually happened...

Thankfully, I know nothing about child porn. Where do they get the children? Are they kidnapped or given by parents? I am shocked there really is a market for this. How many sick people are out there?
Was this homosexual child porn?
Seems like a lot of so called political staffers and political experts have this sick perversion of liking children as sex objects.
Maybe they do—but FGS! did he have to do it at his parent’s home? How much more horrible does that make it for his family?

That was a political move on Lamar’s part..
hes facing strong competition in the primary this year..
Released to parents custody???? This is a 35 year old man, not a teenager.
I know that.
My point had been to another, seems like a very strong case against him, too.
The release to parents was unrelated to his age.
As a child porn defendant, if he was to get out of jail somebody had to be in charge of knowing his whereabouts and activities.
Those people who were to be in charge of keeping track while he awaited adjudication were his parents.
If somebody couldn’t handle that necessity, he would have been in jail all this time.
That wouldn’t be bad from society’s POV, but normally an attorney will try to arrange something to get the client out of jail and looks like this was it.

A lot of the children come from Eastern Europe.
If he had a D on there, he’d have a good chance to get off. Or if he had been arrested in Sandusky Ohio
