At the Grammy Awards on Sunday night, pops megastars will compete for the music industrys most prestigious trophy, and put on flashy performances that are sure to ricochet through social media.
But the producers behind the program, which is to be broadcast live by CBS at 8 p.m., are hoping that the biggest show-stopper of the night will be a much more solemn event: an on-air wedding of 34 couples gay, straight, old, young, of many races and many colors. The ceremony will be part of the hip-hop duo Macklemore & Ryan Lewiss performance of their Grammy-nominated song Same Love, which became a marriage-equality anthem last year just as that issue was drawing intense national attention.
Mr. Lewis, the groups producer, said that the weddings will be in our minds the ultimate statement of equality, that all the couples are entitled to the same exact thing.

Reading a book for one
Trashy, immoral and degenerate ‘awards’ shows are a waste of time. Pass.
Just another reason why NOT to watch that crap..if I want to see an AIDS filled event I can go to West Hollywood and sit on their toilets
More brain washing.
Strange thing is, they’re billing this a tribute to matrimony when they’re doing everything they can to destroy matrimony.
With exceptions of course, the music industry should just adopt the following motto.
We do not believe in marriage, monogamy, respect for underage children, and if we can get them drugged up or drunk and pregnant before 18, so much the better. And now we want the official age of consent done away with. Come join us today kiddies...
I always thought they were “Moonies.”
Just more ridicule and mocking of the institution of marriage by the commie lib progs. They’ve always got to be “in your face” about something.
Any guesses yet as to how or when one of the Obamas will profane this already ridiculous spectacle? “As a fellow Grammy Award (tm) winner (*)...”
(*) Yep, in 2008 for his audiobook, just part of the anointment process...
If I had planned to watch it I'd boycott it. However, I have little use for current pop culture. I don't see new movies, and the music I listen to is performed by people now deceased, or was composed by dead composers.
Now I know what Queen Latifah or whatever her name is meant. I was channel surfing and stopped to see a snippet of Queen Latifah show before going on to the next. She told everyone to watch the Grammy because she will be making an appearance on the show and this Grammy will be very special. She then rubbed her arm with her other hand and said “I’m getting goose bumps just thinking of it”. She said it will be a very very special Grammy so watch it. Everyone applauded. I’m not planning to watch that crap.
the invasion of the rose parade failed so no they are trying a “same as sex propaganda” during the family hour of tv.
Sponsors should be targeted to stop this abomination.
Well, Queen Latifah is a lesbian. Maybe she’ll be “tying the knot” on live television.
I’ll be picking lint out of my belly button.
I won’t watch the “grammys” I’ll be too busy
watching reruns of the State of the Union,
and that should tell you all you need to know
about what I think of the “grammys”.
Now I have another reason to not watch it.
