It reminds of the scene from Austin Powers, where Dr Evil is talking about how he’s going to kill Austin.

Dr. Evil: Scott, I want you to meet daddy’s nemesis, Austin Powers
Scott Evil: What? Are you feeding him? Why don’t you just kill him?
Dr. Evil: I have an even better idea. I’m going to place him in an easily escapable situation involving an overly elaborate and exotic death.
Scott: Why don’t you shoot him now? I mean, come on, I’ll go get a gun. We’ll shoot ‘im together. It’ll be fun. BANG! Dead. Done.
Dr. Evil: One more peep out of you and you are grounded, mister! And I am not joking!

They could use wind power

Play "Fly Like an Eagle" by the Steve Miller Band while catapulting the condemned into a wind turbine.

The death penalty is another attempt, like Obamacare but for different reasons, to do the wrong thing the right way. The reason they can't find the right way to execute prisoners is there really is no right way to do the wrong thing.

How utterly ridiculous.
It is not good to keep someone locked up forever because their debt to society can never be repaid; it is also unjust to make a man forever pay for his crime (like denying him all the rights, privileges, and responsibilities of a citizen) even after serving his sentence. The only right way to do it is to make the death one of relative speed and some dignity rather than caging them up like animals instead of men for large fractions of their normal span of life.

You can re-use a rope and it's cheaper.

Actually, you can cut it into inch long segments, imbed them in lucite paperweights and sell them for a tidy profit. It would be worth doing just to make libtard heads explode.

The song is, I believe, I Saw Joe Hill Last Night. Haunting, if untrue. Seegar sang it also. Whoever wrote that was far more talented than Joe.

From an earlier article:

The state had intended to use propofol, a drug that has never been used for capital punishment, for the Oct. 23 execution of Allen Nicklasson, who was convicted of killing a man who stopped to help him after his car broke down in 1994. But the plan risked triggering European Union curbs on the drug's export, raising alarm among doctors they could lose access to a medication used in 80% of procedures requiring anesthesia, according to the American Society of Anesthesiologists.

Now THAT’S a good idea. It will help pay for the execution and you could give a few to the victim’s family.

I’m in complete agreement and I did successfully argue for the death penalty in my debate class. No one in the class could come up with an opposing argument.

If I had my way, people with cast iron evidence against them would be given a date of execution one week after the trial ends. One appeal and then an interview with a clemency board and then after, the sentence would be carried out.

It would simplify things.

As for a trial, it would have to be exhaustive; nothing should be allowed to be left out and there should be some mitigating factors (genuinely insane people would be locked in an asylum for the rest of their lives) and abuse victims would just get time in jail until their issues are sorted out.

As for people who are so obviously guilty, I believe that it would be better if in fact a speedy timeline were set up. No more waiting around twenty years for automatic appeals.

How many times out of a thousand do you think they get it wrong? ...

This may be somewhat of a leap, but...

I'd venture a guesstimate that of a thousand unborns that are sentenced to death, all 1000 were innocent.

Death to the guilty, life to the innocent.

Scott: If you’ve got a time machine, why don’t you just go back and kill Austin Powers while he’s sitting on the crapper or something?
Dr. Evil: How about no, Scott? Okay?

There are animals in the zoos that need feeding and they could save money from not having to buy food for them, it’s a win win for tax payers, animals and the zoo.

Completely agree; in frankness, if I had my way, I’d have child murderers be front of the line.

If an illegal comes here and pulls something against our citizenry, no trial, just a firing squad within days of arrest.
